The poetic justice would be sweet, but then you miss the opportunity to rub it in Thomases face while he’s still alive. Coming into work every day to see Anita’s smiling face looking at him and saying “you didn’t beat me, motherfucker”, has a sweetness of its own.
They’ve been groomed for decades by the right-wing media never to think critically but rather to believe all sorts of extreme paranoid bullshit without question. And here we are.
A Michigan state legislature candidate, endorsed by Individual 1, suggests that people bring guns to their voting places to make sure that people vote the right way. He also suggested that people unplug voting machines.
Naturally, the candidate himself won’t bring any guns, because the one thing these types are, even more than sedition traitors, is cowards. “I didn’t mean actual guns, or actual violence, I was just talking.”
Although I will say that Marianna Wright probably could have handled the that individual incident better.
Not that I entirely blame her since its hard to think strategically in the heat of the moment, but when confronted with a couple of paranoid provocateurs its best to avoid taking actions that could be interpreted as supporting their delusions. Trying to prevent them from recording the encounter by stealing their phone and them prevent them from leaving even if they stole yours is just going to be seen as evidence that you were hiding something. Probably the best thing would be to give them a tour explaining the wonder of butterflies, or if there were concerns about the integrity of the habitat tell them they need to leave and call the police to charge them with trespassing if they don’t.
Some days you eat the gas-lighting; some days the gas-lighting eats you.
(Videos from the many posted on Twitter Saturday shows the “Democrats” doing some very intensive play-acting, apparently; wait for the end of the 1:19-minute one for the White Power! chant:
Republicans in the New Hampshire state legislature have proposed a law banning negative depictions of US history, such as the role of racism in the nation’s founding. The bills authors describe its purpose as ensuring the loyalty of teachers, and banning the teaching of subversive doctrines.
