Iowa legislators want to live stream classes to make sure the teachers aren’t teaching the wrong stuff. I’m sure this will be a lovely thing for any pedophiles who want to sign in.
My favorite observation is that if they were at all competent at messaging, the Democrats would be running “the party of Donald Trump (image of Cheato with background headline about his habit of barging into the Miss Teen USA dressing room) and Matt Gaetz (image of Sleazo with background headline about his sex trafficking investigation) wants cameras in schools to put your kids on the Internet” ads.
The bill specifically says the livestreams will only be available to parents with children enrolled in that school. Exactly how they plan to implement that, however, is unclear.
An addendum to the bill has been proposed by some (okay, by me, although I did see the idea mentioned somewhere first) that requires Iowa legislators to have their meetings with lobbyists & donors live-streamed as well. I mean, if it’s important to make sure our sweet, innocent, precious young patriots aren’t being indoctrinated by socialist, BLM-supporting, LBGTQ+ teachers, isn’t it also important to know exactly what deals our elected officials are cutting behind closed doors?
And don’t get me started on Iowa Republicans hoping to assess yet another requirement on public schools as they continue to starve K-12 and university funding, just so they can point to the $2 billion the state has in reserve and say, “Hey! We should eliminate our state income tax!” They’re trying to emulate the Kansas/Brownback experiment - even after Kansas admitted it doesn’t work and (mostly) gave up on it!
Only because the Yankees cheated. They had more manpower, more armaments capacity, a far more industrialized economy, and (eventually) better leadership overall. If it hadn’t been for that, the Confederates would’a whupped them!
And Dominion was in charge of tallying Union v Confederate casualties. They manipulated the numbers of able-bodied soldiers on each side. In fact, Fox News recently uncovered a telegram General Longstreet sent to General Pickett at the Battle of Gettysburg:
I just need you to find me eleven thousand seven hundred men. STOP.
ETA Note to Dominion lawyers: That was a joke. Please don’t sue me.
My father thought he was being funny when he told me with great seriousness (I was a little kid) that the South had won the Civil War. I used to get into fights with kids in school, defending my dad. When I found out he lied, I was furious-- yeah, that was a lie, not a joke. He may even have forgotten he said it, but it had consequences for me.
I had a junior high school teacher that was related to Gone With the Wind author Margaret Mitchell, who was apparently a die-hard Southerner until the very end.
According to this teacher, when Mitchell was watching the premiere of the movie, during the scene portraying wounded soldiers during the battle of Atlanta - she turned to her companion and said “If we would’ve had that many men, we would’ve won the war”
That seems like a risky way to categorize those events. So are they saying that if angry Americans do the same thing at their campaign offices it’s just “legitimate political discourse”? Does this mean that all the Antifa stuff in Portland and elsewhere that they complained about also falls under that banner now?
