Matt Gaetz told either Tucker Carlson or Sean Hannity last night that the Florida AG told him that the Soros plan to pay off felons’ fees was felonious vote-buying. And that she would prosecute.
Oooo, he’s good. Praying for the death of an 87-year-old woman with pancreatic cancer? That’s a tough one.
I wonder how long he’s been praying because she sure did hang in there for quite a while. It’s kinda like saying: “See. I told you it was going to rain.”
Rick Scott introduces bill requiring all ballots to be counted within 48 hours. Scott’s proposed legislation would also prevent mail-in ballots received prior to Election Day from being processed and counted until the morning of Nov. 3.
What ever happened to states’ rights?
This is the first paragraph of that article. Pretty shocking:
Last week, President Donald Trump said he was “counting on the federal court system to make it so” that whatever preliminary tally is complete on Election Day will be validated as the final vote count, meaning states would not have the opportunity to count the anticipated record-high numbers of mail-in ballots. This would functionally end American democracy. And it appears that other Republicans are going all in on the idea that we should just not count actual votes.
My bold.
Clearly this is a follow-through on trump’s suggestion that ballots are the problem, so let’s just do away with them.
But seriously, what on earth is even the most far-fetched rationale for allowing only one day to count ballots?
That’s the thing about SO MUCH reported proposed bills in both the House and the Senate. It’s ultimately just posturing for the base, with zero chance of really getting anywhere. I wish the media in general did a better job of framing their reporting to include these factors up front, and in the headlines if possible. Otherwise, much of the public sees the headline and thinks it’s a done deal.
It will be unlikely to have any substantial national effect. District Court rulings don’t constitute precedent for other jurisdictions. To the extent that this ruling exerts influence, it is likely to do so only within the Eastern District of Pennsylvania - one-third of one state.
