NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 1)

Right. He doesn’t have a clue.

It sounds like he’s on drugs. We’re gonna need another urine test.

He thinks the Q stands for Q-anon.

Stolen from somewhere.

Not just illegal, a capital crime. It would solve so many of their problems.

Youtube shoved this Trump ad in front of me today.

I love it, but probably not the reasons its creators hoped. I love it because it says nothing of substance. This no-doubt paid actor brings up one actual issue and casually dismisses it as somehow a luxury he can’t afford to worry about. Low-information voters, indeed.

Why would these people share this? Does this have something to do with Eric being a member of the LGBT community?

This is just so weird.

So Trump is way more than “unh :man_shrugging:”. That’s powerful. The casual racism with the Arab comments are just a bonus.

I said on the other thread, he thinks it stands for “Liars Grifters Bigots &Traitors”, so of course he belongs.

Former coal mine owner who fought against black lung regulations, is asking for medical treatment for black lung.

Please, please, can I be the one to tell John Oliver?

I suspect Oliver was one of the first to find out.

Perhaps Bob got it from all that shit he’s been eating.

This is not really a stupid republican idea. It’s a supposed feature of (American) Capitalism. The idea is to maximize profits by any means necessary. Regulations which protect the health of workers are seen as onerous, in that they increase production costs without adding any value to the product. So a “good” capitalist is duty bound to fight against these.
And in their personal lives “good” capitalists also see it as their duty to maximize their own profits, so payouts to individuals for diseases should be taken advantage of even if you thought them unnecessary in the past, and fought against them To not take advantage would make you a chump. And that these two things are diametrically opposed is irrelevant to them.
In both cases these are seen as a feature of capitalism, not a bug. Even tho, from an ethical point of view it’s a pretty shitty way of conducting yourself and your business.

It can be both. Clintonian liberalism supports “capitalism” but not when it significantly conflicts with other areas. I don’t see a lot of liberal Democrats trying to roll back black lung regulations. It’s Republicans. And it’s stupid. Now, whether coming down a disease is an idea or not is another discussion.

Trying to cash in on something you denied was happening and tried to prevent others from getting assistance for is extremely Republican.

The plan is increasingly clear. The Pennsylvania legislature is attempting to establish a special “election integrity” committee with extraordinary powers in case of disputes over the validity of the count.

Joe Biden wins the state by 400,000 votes. 150 flawed ballots are discovered in a suburban Philly precinct. The “election integrity” committee uses that as an excuse to invalidate the state results and asks the legislature to name the state’s presidential electors. And since the voters of PA clearly preferred Donald Trump by electing a Republican majority legislature, this legislature nominates Trump electors as a reflection of the will of the people.

The alternate scenario, and one which would be so very 2020 Republican, is that the committee finds the results flawed based on right wing “poll watchers” disrupting suburban Philly ballot places with threats of violence.

Brian Schatz is reporting on Twitter that Senate Republicans just blocked a unanimous vote on a resolution condemning white supremacy. The resolution had already passed the House by unanimous vote.

Look at the other shit-stains that voted against that:

“Reps. Matt Gaetz, of Florida, Clay Higgins, of Louisiana, Steve King, of Iowa, and Thomas Massie, of Kentucky, joined the Tyler Republican in voting against the resolution. The measure was adopted in a bipartisan 397-5 vote.”

Anywhere to see what senators voted against it?

Oops. Meant to reply to @Morgyn.

@Turek’s link is about the representatives.
