Goody. I just donated to Jaime again.
My question to him would have been, “Pardon me, but do you have any relatives we could talk with that aren’t full of shit?”
Well, when you think about it, that could be enough to earn him his Nobel Peace Prize.
All the ladies think he’s pretty fly.
Sorry, I mean all the ladies think he has a pretty fly.
If you’ve subverted the electoral process, what are the voters going to do about it? It’s not who votes that counts, it’s who counts the votes.
Speaking of targeted ads, I wonder if the staffers have been able to keep this one away from Donny Two-scoops. Since we haven’t heard of a fatal stroke, my guess would be ‘yes.’
If someone has already posted about this, my apologies, but in the Just When You Thought They Couldn’t Sink Any Lower department, we find this:
Story broken by the Orange County Register, no less. And Republicans are actually trying to defend what they’re doing.
I’m so far past disgusted there are no words left.
Holy shit.
Here’s a CNN article on Barrett and Obamacare.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/10/politics/affordable-care-act-amy-coney-barrett-obamacare/index.html
I didn’t realize this:
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear arguments on November 10 regarding whether the whole law should be tossed out. That could be just weeks after the full Senate has confirmed a new Justice Barrett.
Are the Republicans really going to be so stupid and irresponsible as to strike down the entire ACA in November, when renewals are in process for January, in the middle of a pandemic?
If they are, bring it on. The ACA has strong public support, and I think this egregious end-run around the legislature in a lame duck period would assure public support for packing the court. And, of course, for simply reinstating the ACA with whatever formulation satisfies the technicalities the court uses to throw it out.
Let the twitching corpse of this Republican administration do its worst, I hope it just strengthens the new administration’s resolve to kill them off for good.
And are they really going to try to reverse gay marriage rights? I can’t imagine what will happen if they really do all these things.
I think blue states would continue to do the right things. And red states who took conservative actions once they were free to do so would be punished by the national marketplace. Remember the NCAA refusing to hold tournament events in NC a couple of years ago? National opinion in favor of gay rights has gotten even stronger since then and national companies will be afraid to do nice things for states which don’t recognize basic human dignity.
At least that’s my hope.
Woman at PA grocery store recognizes wife of Lieutenant Governer, decides the adult, rational thing to do is call her a ‘nigger’ who ‘doesn’t belong here’:
OK, it doesn’t state definitively that the person in question was a Republican, but if I were a betting cartoon horse…
Find the people responsible for these “unofficial” boxes, charge them, convict them, and sentence them to the maximum prison sentence.
Do this loudly and publicly.
Republicans are taking apart the process of democracy. Don’t allow it.
When you get a mail in ballot in California, there is a list of legal ballot boxes included with your ballot.
I can, and unfortunately so can they.
Yes, but a non-zero percentage of folks will see a box and not check to see if it is official (because they don’t know that the GOP is rejecting all norms).
Mike Lee, who is positive for covid, showed up at the SCOTUS hearings in person today sans mask. And Lindsay Graham asked Barrett to remove her mask before testifying.
Mark Meadows walked up to a gaggle of reporters and took off his mask. They asked him to put his mask back on and he said no, and walked away.
A Michigan state legislature candidate claims that what the militia thugs who wanted to kidnap Governor Whitmer did, is not illegal. Even the Republican Party condemns his comments.
NOW WAIT A MINUTE!
From the article,
Wouldn’t those places (GOP headquarters, gun shops, Baptist church) tend to vote Republican? If the Republicans were trying some shennanigans, wouldn’t it make more sense to put the unofficial boxes in places where more “Demoncrats” would vote? By putting them where the Republicans are, they’re, in effect, throwing out Republican votes! You put the unofficial boxes outside of, say, Planned Parenthood clinics, you’re going to draw more from the leftist crowd, and you’d be throwing away votes for Biden instead of Trump!
Of course it’s Macomb County, where I live. People are so aggressively Trumpian around here I’m amazed any Republican condemned him.
That said, I strongly suspect he was defending militia members not involved in the plot, essentially trying to argue that the article unfairly painted all militia members with a broad brush. That was my take on his comment. And he’s wrong. All militia members are dangerous.
