Ah, the sweet sound of despair! I’m starting to think that even Trump is finally realizing he’s losing this election.
Lord, can’t wait til the debate. Of course I won’t watch, if I hear of a car wreck, I don’t want to watch that either.
Heard this on the news yesterday. Foreign journalists will be restricted to (at most) 15 months in the country. Then they’ll have to leave. In return, other countries will begin restricting American journalists overseas to 15 months - then they’ll have to leave. Who needs news from elsewhere reported by people with in country contacts and expertise? Apparently, not real true Americans.
Is it wrong of me to hope Guiliani is stupid enough to start looking for kiddie porn to plant on this laptop and gets caught downloading it?
While visiting Trump in the White House, thus using a government server to download porn.
Melania will be happy.
Registered Democrats in Florida are reporting getting emails allegedly from the Proud Boys threatening to come after them if they don’t immediately re-register as Republican, and vote for Individual 1.
A public high school in Ohio is giving extra credit if students watch videos from Prager University.
How can he just say this without any proof? Or blowback?
Is anyone holding Johnson’s feet to the fire? SOMEONE should be saying “If this is true, file charges, if it’s not, you’re in trouble…”
(preferably, before the debate…)
Now, how did the Proud Boys get these voter records? Is that public information?
It’s wrong yet so very right.
Apparently in Florida, yes.
It would be nice to see defamation laws tightened to make it easier for “public figures” (can Hunter even be considered a public figure?) to sue in cases such as this.
It might start to give people pause to think before spreading such outlandish stories
Florida Democrats can re-register as Repubs to their hearts’ delight (or to the Proud Boys’ hearts’ delight), but their actual votes are still secret.
If only the New York Post had their own website or even a paper copy of their ‘reporting’ one could acquire . . . but, alas, no…
IANAL, but from the look of it this meets even the existing Sullivan standard for defaming a public figure (i.e. “malice” in the form of knowingly lying or demonstrating reckless disregard for the truth).
That’s a little disingenuous - news is spread (and advertising $$ earned) in the modern world via Facebook and Twitter, generally by links back to the originating website. Note that I am in no way suggesting the Post story should be allowed to spread.
No, what’s disingenuous is Giuliani saying “They’ve set up an Iron Curtain so you can’t get out the New York Post story”.
We know about this ‘’‘story’’’ because the Post printed it and Giuliani is pimping it.
And worse, with “But even if it isn’t accurate, the American people are entitled to know it.” Giuliani is treading directly on LBJ’s infamous “Of course it ain’t true, but I want to make the son-of-a-bitch deny it.”
Wouldn’t there also be the issue of “chain of custody?” I mean, if Hunter “abandoned” his laptop, wouldn’t it be possible for someone - like someone who works with/on computers (like, say, someone who works in a computer repair store) - to upload pictures of kiddy porn onto said laptop and then claim that he found them on this laptop?
Given how much the Right loves conspiracy theories, this actually sounds plausible.
