Congressional candidate says there’s no racism because there are “orientals”, Polynesians, Hispanics, and African Americans in the military.
Right wing activist admits she organized an attempt to kidnap the Governor of Ohio, try him, and either execute or exile him, and then she would take his place as Governor.
Mercy! Have mercy! I can’t stand it anymore! AAAAGGGGHHH! <Runs screaming from the room!>
I’m not seeing the hypocrisy or irony here, since the implication seems to be that her dad can get some sort of (very expensive) treatment here that he can’t get in single-payer Canada. And he wouldn’t be covered by a U.S. MFA plan anyway, since he’s Canadian.
But are there such treatments that are unobtainable because of the Canadian system? Or is this just another plea to pay for an ultra-long-shot treatment that wouldn’t be covered by any health plan, anywhere?
Remember James Watt, Secretary of the Interior under Reagan? In pursuit of a similar point, he famously described a coal leasing panel thusly:
It did not go over well. He resigned three weeks later. But I’m sure Mr. Allen will be just fine.
It’s like she’s trying to apply the “The King of Comedy” model to politics. THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS, LADY.
Not exactly stupid, but…
Vice President Mike Pence no longer plans to attend the Senate’s final confirmation vote for Judge Amy Coney Barrett, a Pence aide confirmed to CNN and Politico on Monday. On Sunday, Senate Democrats claimed that his presence after possible exposure to the coronavirus would be a “violation of common decency.”
…
My bold.
BWA-HAHAHAHAHA! “Violation of common decency”??
Oh wait… that wasn’t supposed to be hilarious irony? C’mon, sure it was. HAD to be…
No. Everything that is available in the US in terms of healthcare is available in Canada. It’s not the Canadian system that is at fault, unless she wants treatment for her father immediately, instead of, say, next week. “Wait times in the Canadian system where you could die waiting for care” is a favourite target of American commentators who are opposed to single-payer healthcare.
But here in Canada, if you need care immediately, you’ll get it immediately. However, under no circumstances can you buy your way to the head of the line for things that do not need immediate care. You may have to get in line, and wait a bit until it’s your turn.
My guess is that her father’s Canadian physicians said that while he needed care, it wasn’t urgent at this point in time, and he could be looked after within X months. But she wanted him looked after now. So, as a right-winger who obviously hates single-payer healthcare, she’s running a GoFundMe to buy her father’s way to the head of the line in the US (which she could not do in Canada), while taking the opportunity to disparage Canadian healthcare.
Yup. That sounds exactly right.
As a ‘don’t need it right this damn minute’ person who’s been bumped for someone who does, that’s exactly how Canadian health care works.
I’ve been in both systems and, boy howdy, I’m so much better off in Canada.
Yeah, Republicans in Ohio really hated DeWine. Personally, I think he did the best out of all Republican governors, and better than a number of Democratic, in response to Covid.
Which is why Republicans hate him, they have taken the side of the virus against that of humans.
Thanks for the perspective. Glad I can now confidently condemn Chen as a typical Republican slimeball.
Lesley Stahl has had to get security after death threats related to her Individual 1 interview.
Birds of a feather…
Matt Gaetz posted a photo of him with his head against Kimberley Guilfoyle’s bosom. He apparently thinks it makes him look straight. I wonder what Donnie Junior thinks of it.

And of course, this way he probably gets the best of both worlds. Bumped to the head of the line in the US because he’ll have the money to pay for it, but also getting longer-term follow-up care in Canada, and not racking up thousands in debt for such care.
Conservative group is sending texts to PA voters claiming Biden supports sexual reassignment surgery for children as young as eight. When called on it, their spokesperson said, “Well, he never denied it.”
And the bagpipe didn’t say no.
Well, doesn’t that just open up a whole new world of attack ads!
Trump never DENIED that he enjoys finishing up a golf game with a dump taken right over the last hole…
Trump never DENIED that he has litters of newborn puppies brought to the Oval Office each Thursday so he can beat them to death with his tiny fists, a practice he calls “Thumpin’ Thursdays”…
Trump never DENIED that he had Rudy Giuliani, with his Russian connections, find him a portfolio of nude photos of Putin, that Trump makes use of (along with a box of tissues) for “private time” whenever he feels lonely…
These are all fair game…right???
Conservatives (who used to be all so anti-everything-Russian) do seem to have this crush on Vlad, don’t they.
(Not sure how to clean up this link so it shows. It’s a cartoon of prominent conservatives admiring Putin.)
