NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

Processed cheese. There is nothing bad about real cheese.

Also, I mean, how is that even an argument? Of course the elites in society have the loudest megaphone when it comes to every fucking issue in the world. This is true for Republican or Democratic or any other kind of elites.

Part of what being “elite” means is that you have a disproportionate share of power and influence due to your wealth and privilege.

But I agree it’s funny to see Ted Cruz posturing like some kind of ordinary Joe deploring the disproportionate influence of “elites”.

And, the whole underlying theme of the Democratic Party is that the playing field should be leveled, so the influence of the elites is decreased and the influence of everyone else increased. If you’re complaining about the elites having too much power, then you should be a Democrat.

It really is just another case of the Republicans accusing the not-Republicans of doing what the Republicans are guilty of. It is kind or specious to say that the Democrats are measurably working in opposition to Republican Sociopathism in any way other than saying that it is a bad thing.

Egalitarianism may be a Democratic ethos, but in the American Plutocratically-driven system, an ethos only matters if it works in favor of the Plutocrats. Until the money-in-politics problem it solved, the Democrats will merely sound better than the Republicans without being practically different or able to fix any Republican bugfuckery.

A fine jib-cut.

Kandiss Taylor, who came in third with only 3.4% of the Georgia Republican primary vote for Governor, is refusing to concede and claims the election was rigged. David Perdue, who got 21.8% of the vote, conceded on election night.

From article on Taylor:

Well bless that theocratic little shitstain’s heart.
That could almost be sung to “We are the World”. (I can see Chris Elliot histrionically clutching headphones, givin’er.)
Bad enough Lauren Boebert has to remind me of a slightly more PCP-ish Sarah Palin, now this plonk comes along and has to remind me of 1921-Tulsa Gabbard. (going more on looks, there, considering I doubt Babs is as much of a Jesus louse as the other dipshit is.)

Her slogan always sets off a Warren Zevon earworm for me: “Send Jesus, guns and babies!”

I read it as “Jesus guns babies”, which is an aspect of Christianity I was not aware of.

As if running with bone spurs weren’t bad enough already.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me , and do not hinder them, for my aim’s not all that good."

The holes in the hands really interfere with getting a firm grip.

Jesus can’t play rugby 'cause the ball goes though his hands!

I offer the cinematic masterpiece Guns Akimbo” as rebuttal depending on the combination of “Guns” and “Jesus.”

More people were killed in Uvalde than have been killed by feral pigs in 100 years.

The shit has hit the fan.

Eh… it’s a sort of revival of the early “Jesus spears babies” and “Jesus slings babies” heresies that we mostly supressed way back…

This apparently got swallowed by the Uvalde shooting, but Representative Lauren Boebert apparently decided she wasn’t getting enough attention so: https://thehill.com/homenews/house/590717-boebert-asked-jewish-visitors-to-capitol-if-they-were-doing-reconnaissance/

…“was in jest.” Why am I not laughing?
