Up until a day or so ago, I hadn’t heard the term “log cabin republicans” uttered in what seems like decades. I didn’t know there still was such a thing, that in this day and age there could possibly be people so deluded that they can somehow rationalize clinging to a group that openly despises them.
My feelings are similar, but for the reason that the Democrats didn’t used to be as accepting, not that the GOP used to give lip service to equality but now does not. Now there is a clear choice in the social arena where there was not before, so it makes sense that a couple decades ago, some people that were more interested in lower taxes would choose a group who (back then) treated them only marginally worse as people.
Hey, look at the upside. What is nature constantly trying to do to all of us? If they are out gamboling right there in nature, maybe she will get the job done at last.
See, when I read stuff like this, I for the life of me, do not understand how Republicans can see something like that, and then not think to themselves: “hmm, maybe we’re going in the wrong direction. Maybe I’m putting MYSELF in danger by engaging in this rhetoric”.
I mean honestly, that’s just some scary shit right there.
Kari Lake, the Individual 1 candidate for Governor of Arizona, is campaigning against drag queens (which is apparently the most important issue in the country today). Drag Queen Barbra Seville says he performed for Lake’s children, at her birthday party, and for her at dive bars.
Because it’s never going to happen to them, only the people they don’t like. We see this over and over and over again on a dizzying array of topics. No empathy, no ability to speculate about the future.
A spokesperson for Lake, however, told AZ Central that Lake’s daughter had attended a baby shower where Stevens “showed up as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator;” they claimed this did not amount to a drag show.
Sorry lady, but a dude impersonating Maryilyn Monroe, is pretty much the definition of a drag show.
