I am having a real hard time parsing this statement.
Ultimately, she meant shooting the people harming her grandchildren.
Of course, she would do “anything” to protect her grandchildren besides take away the right of an insane gunman to have free access to a weapon to shoot her grandkids with. She would rather get in a gunfight than take away that lunatic’s right to own a gun.
I think she intended to have ‘people who threaten my grandchildren’ as a referent for the pronoun ‘them’ in that sentence, but mangled it in speaking.
Seems like in shortening the speech to fit the allotted time someone struck the whole antecedent clause on who would she shoot.
Or, maybe, she was just saying of course she would shoot capital-t scare-quotes “Them”. C’mon, you know… “Them”
This is because English is her 2nd language, the first being derpy, moronic Woo.

Right, but who is “them”? It’s pretty obvious that one would shoot someone actually attacking a family member, there’s nothing controversial about that at all. So, in order for her to make sense, the them is not the people hypothetically attacking her grandchildren, but the people threatening to take her guns away.
When I first heard it, I thought it odd that she was willing to kill her grandchildren, but upon relistening, I hear it as a very clear threat to Democrats or anyone else who may pass any sort of gun control measure.
Well, that interpretation makes it all better. Threatening to murder Democrats is more on point. She must be a Christian too.
Maybe its a “Shoot the grand children it takes them out of the equation”, type answer.
It keeps them from turning into a gay or trans.
