I fear the Republican brain rot has reached terminal levels. All three GOP candidates for Michigan’s attorney general position have come out against Griswold v Connecticut … you know, the decision that ended prosecution of married couples who use birth control.
Use a condom in Michigan and it’s jail time, buster!
The thing is, they now have to out-do each other on the whack-o scale. It’s not enough to espouse traditional Republican policies.
If one candidate comes out with “no abortions”, then the next must come out with “no birth control for single people”, then then next moves to “no birth control for anyone, anytime.”
I expect the next move will be “government forced pregnancies for all women over 18”
It seems to me that we are not that far from the pubbies legislating forensic examination of every female’s menstrual discharge to ensure no “precious unborn child” was ‘murdered”.
You can laugh about it, but banning contraception is absolutely where the Republicans are heading next after they overturn Roe vs. Wade. These people do not believe that women should have any say in when they get pregnant.
High-ranking Homeland Security officials in the Trump administration say they were overcome with feelings of vertigo, confusion and memory loss while on White House grounds and in their Washington, D.C.-area homes."
Perhaps a normal condition? More likely, laying grounds for a legal defense of diminished competence.
Alleged Jeffrey Epstein pimp Jean-Luc Brunel was found hanging in his French jail cell today. And Ted Cruz thought it appropriate to tweet, “Anyone know where Hillary was this weekend?”
Yes, the pernicious belief that women are people must be stamped out thoroughly and without hesitation. That belief offends God and undermines proper order.
You can’t really control a population if you can’t control the means of production–and of reproduction.
Not so farfetched as one might think: I recall reading that something similar was routine (at least for a time) in Romania during the Ceaușescu regime. The rationale (sic) was that the birthrate needed to be increased, so every potential conception had to be tracked.
Oh, how I wish I were being ironic, but of course this abusive and intrusive plan, were it to come into play, would only be applied to those who the pubbies don’t really think count anyway.
