NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

If rape babies are soo healing imagine how healing they’d be if rape wasn’t a crime.
Also, I was assured that if there was a baby then it wasn’t real rape.

Keep in mind, Shapiro is Jewish, so he probably doesn’t have much use for any kind of Gospels. Imagine my surprise when I first.noticed that he’s almost always wearing a yarmulke on TV because of how snoothly it blends into his hair color.

Why he’s decided to throw in with a group of people who are convinced he’s going to Hell is anyone’s guess.

While this is technically true (the best kind of true) he does seem to spend a lot of time LARPing as a Evangelical Christian.

One immediate consequence of the new right-ward movement of CNN (which appears to be quite real and not merely ‘reported’) is the cancellation of their media-criticism show Reliable Sources.

The show (hosted by Brian Stelter, who is apparently leaving CNN–voluntarily or not, we don’t know) wasn’t perfect. A structural problem with criticizing media venues is that everyone who knows anything that could be of interest, wants to stay on the good side of those very media venues. So they aren’t going to say much beyond vague generalities (e.g. 'some say that Maggie Haberman of the New York Time is overly concerned with access’ would be considered a VERY strong statement on R.S.).

Put another way: people want CNN and MSNBC to hire them to do punditry, so they don’t want to voice any explicit criticism of CNN or MSBNC.

Still, the show at least did examine Fox News fairly closely, which is of value; those people DO need to be held to account for the distortions they peddle.

And now the show is over (last episode is tomorrow, 11am ET).

And the new CNN brass thinks they can win over Fox News viewers. They can’t, unless they start pushing the same flattering lies with which Fox News comforts (and addicts) its viewers.

Marge Greene has introduced a bill to de-transition all trans kids, and to stop providing medical care to adult trans people.

When Rick Scott headed the Columbia/HCA healthcare company, it lost millions of federal dollars. And now he’s the head of the Republican Senate Reelection Committee, and they’re missing millions of dollars.

E
Each time, I swear she can’t get worse. Then she does.

It’s that can-do American spirit!

Florida Congressional candidate says that if FBI agents showed up at his house, they would leave in a body bag.

And to think, Jesus threw the money-lenders out of the temple. He should have just charged them rent.

In a gunfight, my money is on the Feebs.

Not really much more than a stupid tweet, but MTG tweeted:

“The FBI’s political targeting of President Trump is the same type of thing they did to MLK.

They always abuse their power to take down their political enemies.”

Which prompted former University of Kentucky player and current UK broadcaster Rex Chapman to respond:

“I don’t normally do this. But will you go out with me? You’re amazing.:relaxed:

The rest of the responses to both Green and Chapman are hilarity personified.

Florida school district rejects donation of dictionaries because, of course,

This is thanks to the Gov. DeSantis-signed “[un]education bill” that requires every book that enters a school to be vetted by “media specialists,” all of which haven’t even been hired yet, according to the Herald-Tribune.

So, that’s the trick. Make it look like there’s a way around the restriction, but never actually implement that way. Come to think of it, what exactly are the qualifications for the job of “media specialist” in this context? I’d bet real money that’s not even addressed in the law.

Marge Greene also said that it’s a shame that those Sandy Hook parents are being so mean to Alex Jones.

Lauren Boebert* says if assault weapons ban is passed, we’ll have to start eating dogs like the people in Venezuela.

* Autocomplete suggested “boner” :stuck_out_tongue:

I read this too quickly and wondered why a broadcaster from the UK would be interested in MTG.

She’s making that sound like it’s a bad thing.

Wow! I never knew that having “been right pretty much most of the time” was a defense for defamation!
Umm MTG? Having been right pretty much and most of the time, by definition, includes having been wrong some of the time.

Marjorie Taylor Greene appears to spend an unusually large amount of time thinking about transgender people.

Someone should encourage her to…try to find out what that’s all about. Imagine the benefit to the world if she found a way to deal with what looks, from the evidence, like massive and crippling inner conflicts!

Right-wingers in general seen to spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about other people’s genitals, as seen in this case in my backyard where the YMCA had to ban an 80-year-old woman after she started yelling at an 18-year-old volunteer and demanding to know if she had a penis.
