NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

I saw the perfect response to people like this in a Midsomer Murders episode. It involved a catapult and wine bottles.

Ron Johnson says he was involved in the fake electors scheme, but “only for a couple of seconds”.

That really was a great bit. When that show was good, it was very good.

You’re just making it worse!

Not sure where to post this. So many atrocities, so many threads…

VERY long article. These are the first two paragraphs. Why is this not a surprise?

Sensitive election system files obtained by attorneys working to overturn President Donald Trump’s 2020 defeat were shared with election deniers, conspiracy theorists and right-wing commentators, according to records reviewed by The Washington Post.

A Georgia computer forensics firm, hired by the attorneys, placed the files on a server, where company records show they were downloaded dozens of times. Among the downloaders were accounts associated with a Texas meteorologist who has appeared on Sean Hannity’s radio show; a podcaster who suggested political enemies should be executed; a former pro surfer who pushed disproven theories that the 2020 election was manipulated; and a self-described former “seduction and pickup coach” who claims to also have been a hacker.

Manchin and Sinema are pains in the ass, but imagine what Biden’s first 18 months would have been like if those seats were in the R column with McConnell majority leader.

Sometimes you just need those numbers.

Also any time a Republican switches to Democrat the average stupidity of both parties increases.

So… He failed ‘science’ no surprise there.

He’s an equalizer! Beating his smart kid until he’s a dumb as his stupid kid.

So: “readn’ ‘n’ writin’ ‘n’ 'rithmetic” just like the Good Old Days™ — can the “hick’ry stick” be far behind? And while we’re bringing back traditions, how about the one practiced in places in the South, where the “colored” high school stopped at the eleventh grade, ensuring that none of “them” really graduated? That’ll put them in their place!

As the latest result of Texas’ book-banning frenzy, the autobiography of George Dawson, the grandson of a slave who learned to read at age 98, is no longer permitted at George Dawson Middle School.

Well then, I’m going to buy that book. Looking now.

Well, there’s only one thing to do to fix this.

Change the name of the school.

Why is that a fix?

Because then Texas students aren’t reminded of the hypocrisy that surrounds them thanks to their idiotic government.

The students should be reminded every day.

Ordered the George Dawson book.

I think my sarcasm is being missed.

Texas bans a book in schools, about the touchy subject of slavery, including in the school named after the author of said book. A guy they liked well enough at one time to name a school after. So Texas could change the name of the school, so the contradiction doesn’t bother their tiny minds.

Beating kids with a wooden paddle, as punishment within a public school, is still legal in 19 states:

That includes North Carolina, though it is de facto banned by all of their school districts. Maybe Robinson aims to reverse that, too.

Being familiar with Southlake, I’m shocked they have a school named after any black person.
