Coming in very very late, and perhaps I’m missing your targeted humor, but calling a rumored closeted gay dude “Lady G” - an effeminate slur - is just not okay. I fucking hate Lindsey Graham for a lot of reasons, but I don’t need more reasons and neither should you. If you meant it some other way, fine and I apologize, but this kind of shit is not okay. Call him an asshole (definitely), sleezebag (yup), whatever. But please have the courage to call him those things, not a homophobic slur. Thanks. And if this is a bit strong I apologize and thanks for reading. On edit I softened this a little, but seriously, calling someone a girlyman? Not okay. Thanks, @Smapti
Honestly, if LG is closeted, that has to be a weird and lonely place for the man. His self hatred and/or fear and/or denial must be immense. But not my business at all.
I don’t think it counts as a slur if, as purported, it’s the actual nickname he uses for himself in the DC gay community.
And if it isn’t, then frankly I’m not concerned about calling out a closeted gay man who uses his position of authority to actively hurt and make life harder for other LBGT people.
And it’s certainly not how any kind of transportation is going to work when the republicans finally get around to enacting the same restrictions on women and girls that the other Taliban have enacted.
I clearly remember when all of this was reported and getting a lot of buzz. What I’ve never understood or heard a good explanation for is why it all suddenly went POOF and the story vanished and Harding shut up about it.
