NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

AND, he’s weak! At the same time!

He’s Shrodinger’s president. Until you open the box, you don’t know if you can criticize him for being weak or being a powerful dictator.

And meanwhile, over at Fox, Tucker Carlson takes Russia’s side.

I’ve been expecting this, and I think it’s where the extremist wing of the Republican Party (aka the Republican Party) will ultimately land.

ETA: a quick plug, The Bulwark is a never-Trumper site, and they have some other good coverage of the Republican response to the invasion.

Like this one

And I’ve never hit a paywall there.

Tommy Tuberville says Russia is invading Ukraine to steal their farmland, because Russia is a Communist country and therefore can’t feed its people.

At what point does “Aid and Comfort” kick in?

I just saw a NRCC push-poll in my Facebook feed.

I responded with the comment, “Stop backing Russia, you un-American fucks!”

While not a cohort generally known for their ‘intellectual’ (stifles a laugh) consistency … I’ll give the devil his due on this one:

I’m guessing the next 1/6 will be MAGAts trying to ‘free’ a couple of Strategic Air Command United States Strategic Command sites for their друзья (friends).

Russian tv has been broadcasting Fucker’s pro-Putin tirades.

Speaking of Russian tv, I went on Twitter and YouTube and flagged RT for reporting fake news.

Carlson and Trump have gone full-on Traitor.

And yet there are millions who love and follow them. I probably should not be shocked, but I am.

Maybe he confused Russia with North Korea. He’s not a smart man.

Everything computes for the 75-IQ brain. (Nothing’s connected up in there.)

I’ve been corrected on this board for calling the activities of Trump and his cronies treason, since they weren’t collaborating with an actual enemy.

Looks like I may turn out to be right after all.

The fantasy Tucker Carlson and the Murdochs and allies are selling, and selling hard, is that Russia is the White Christian Man’s Paradise, where non-whites and gays and women and non-Christians know their place, and glorious Straight White Christian Men strut about with their assault weapons in hand while all their Inferiors bow down to them in appropriate meekness.

The reality is that Russia isn’t all that Christian, and certainly does NOT permit its citizens to collect guns. And all these dopes who think they’d Finally be Free in Russia would have a very rude awakening the second they tried uttering one word of criticism of the dictator (Putin today; perhaps someone else before long).

Idiots. Being useful now, perhaps, but: idiots.

“Christian”:

Lauren Witzke, Republican candidate for Senate from Delaware, talks about how she identifies more with Putin’s Russia than with Biden’s America.

JD Vance said just the other day that he didn’t care about Ukraine. Now he cares because he gets to criticize Biden

Remember back during the Iraq war, when Republicans rightly criticized Democrats who seemed to be cheering for the US effort to fail because it would make Bush look bad?

On the shuttlebus commute ride home last night, a friend mentioned to me that Tan the Conman said that Putin wouldn’t have attacked Ukraine if he (TtC) were still president. My response: “Well, of course. While Trump was president, Putin was busy running two countries. Now that Trump’s no longer president, Putin had to fill in that gap in his résumé.”

No. Did they?

I can’t find a cite – it was almost 20 years ago, after all – but ISTR Dem critics of Bush’s plans occasionally crossing a line into almost sounding like they were rooting for those plans to fail. IMO Republicans were right to call those critics out (although I completely opposed the war itself).

What you are recalling is Republicans accusing fictional Democrats of doing this.
The reason you can’t find a cite is because it didn’t happen.

Today though, there is plenty of evidence for Fox News “personalities” and Republican politicians OPENLY cheering for a Russian invasion of a European country, the worst we have seen since World War II.

No, I don’t. Please provide a cite
