As an aside … James Woods sucks as an actor. He only ever plays himself. Its just lucky for him he’s a natural asshole.

James Woods is (was) good at being James Woods - he can handle the entire range from tightly wound to jittery. This isn’t necessarily a huge demerit. Humphrey Bogart was good at being Humphrey Bogart. I coincidentally caught part of Salvador again the other day and he was well cast for that role. He was also VERY well cast as the sleazy, loser, pimp boyfriend of Sharon Stone’s character in Casino. As you can see from the Simpsons clip above he became somewhat of a character meme/self-parody in pop culture.
But he has always been a bit of a jerk and probably a lowlife. Amber Tamblyn certainly seems to think so.
I pulled up her Twitter page and began hate-tweeting several of her things, and they’re all awful, but she has apparently dirty-deleted this. Still, I brought her account to Elon Musk’s attention and told him if he doesn’t do anything about it, he’s supporting stochastic terrorism. I’m sure he’ll toss that opinion in the discard pile.

I enjoyed his performance in John Carpenter’s Vampires but how much of that was from it being a John Carpenter movie and having low expectations from a B movie is unknown.

Interesting on the no-show. Following that story a bit on RW Twitter, and the consensus there is that since the masked Proud Boys are looking like they are in shape, they are really FBI agents (hence the masks, so they don’t get made). Perhaps they are really the local police, and wearing the mask for the same reason?
Note that I don’t believe that, but it makes at least as much sense as the “it’s the feds” stuff.
If the local police are among the Proud Boys, it’s more likely because they’re members.
Interesting how wearing a mask suddenly isn’t a health hazard anymore, though.

Chris Christie’s niece started hurling racist insults at a Hispanic family on a flight from New Orleans to New Jersey, forcing the plane to return to the gate, refused to get off the plane when ordered to by the flight crew, tried to pull the “Don’t you know who I am?” card when the cops showed up, and assaulted six of them while being dragged off the plane.
There’s a story from Australia a few days ago that dovetails into this nicely; a popular radio host in Brisbane was set to invite a “gender critical” pundit on their show, when the internet started snooping into his Twitter history - and found that a huge chunk of his “likes” were on tweets of trans porn. When the story went viral, he started frantically going through his Twitter account and unliking tweets in the middle of a broadcast before deleting his account entirely and claiming he was “hacked”.
It’s been documented that the main consumers of transgender porn are cis men who identify as straight. IMHO, for a considerable number of the people who claim drag queens are “sexualizing” children, it’s because they see transness as inherently sexual, because it’s their secret fetish that they’re ashamed of and they’re lashing out at publicly trans individuals for “forcing” them to be attracted to them.
