NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

If it was such a great constitution, why did they have to change it 27 times?

Nick Adams, “alpha male”, is having a normal one, making up stories about how he got triggered by a business selling a product that he doesn’t personally like.

Broke the barista’s heart, I’m sure.

Wrong!

She was swooning over the cloud of alpha-ness surrounding him. She knew she’d made the biggest mistake of her life, and immediately quit and became a nun.

Wasn’t that a plot to an episode of How I Met Your Mother?

A former candidate for Ilhan Omar’s seat just called for an armed rebellion.

Watch the MAGA cult suddenly be OK with a Muslim woman from Africa calling for armed violence.

Maybe a Yankovic was involved.

Have you ever heard of actor James Woods? No? Me neither!

But apparently he’s an outspoken Trump supporter, and he’s alleging that he’s been blackballed from Hollywood for it, and he’s suing the DNC and probably anyone else who moves for ruining his career.

Here’s a sampling of his acting resume, from Wikipedia. (All links are to the Wikipedia articles for those movies.)

He was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for Salvador in 1986 and Best Supporting Actor for Ghosts of Mississippi in 1996. He won two Primetime Emmy Awards, in '87 and '89.

Quite frankly, the most recent movie I saw him in was Surf’s Up, which was a fun animated movie about a surfing penguin. Did he play the fun-loving protagonist or his stoner-trope best friend? Did he play the memorable antagonist, Tank? NOPE! He played a bit role as the competition’s promoter.

This guy sucks, quite frankly.

Don’t tell him about Grape-Nuts.

Are threats of violence really not against Twitter’s Terms of Service? For this kind of talk, I would get banned from every online community I’m part of, fired from my job, and thrown in jail. What the FUCK are you waiting for, Elon Musk?

What are you, 12? Of course we’ve heard of James Woods.

He was a really good actor once. Too bad he’d gone down the wingnut rabbit hole.

A fascist militia has attacked electric power substations in Moore County, NC, leaving 40,000 people without power, in order to prevent a drag show from taking place.

adjusts my collar

I’m 40, actually, and I worked at Blockbuster for 13 years, and from that list of all the movies he’s done, I’ve seen four of them, and he didn’t make an impression on me. (Any Given Sunday is not one of the ones that I saw.)

What the hell has happened to this country? This is not the America I grew up in.

Alas, these asshats in fact long for an America where they could prevent drag shows by directly making the queers fear for their life and limb. An America that extends to our lifetimes, if not necessarily where we each live. But since they mostly can’t do that with impunity any more they go for Plan B, causing general damage and endangerment in order to get the community to conclude tolerance is not worth the hardship.

And also, these groups WANT to create an environment of internal strife, since they feel that (a) people at large will rather appease them and (b) naturally if it comes to violence THEY will win.

Hey, James Woods, here’s a list of the movies I’ve been in:

1:

Clearly, my lack of success in Hollywood is all your fault, and so I’m suing you.

How do we know that’s the motive? Did the perpetrators claim responsibility?

The intentional ““vandalism”” of multiple power substations . . . good thing this wasn’t Muslims or we have no choice about calling this a terrorist attack, which is what it was*.
*Assuming what’s been reported is correct.

Chants of “if we can’t read, no one can!” were heard shortly before power was lost.
