I haven’t followed this story, and I’m not really current on the players, but I know McCarthy is slime. From the standpoint of wanting relatively sane, non-traitorous House leadership, what’s the least worst outcome we Dopers can hope for?

You think it’s more realistic that they’ll realize how stubborn and petulant they’re being, seek a compromise, and start governing responsibly?
Of course not, but I’m just asking about the Speaker. I think it’s realistic that they’ll eventually choose one from their own ranks. From the standpoint of wanting our Democracy to survive at least two more years, who should we be rooting for?
