So presumably a same-sex marriage in which one of the spouses is transgender would qualify under these conditions?
Personally, I would love to see, for example, a couple of burly bearded bear-guys celebrating their gay wedding and showing off their Iowa marriage license that the state had to grant them because one of them is AFAB.
(Not as much as I would love to see Iowa and all other red states ceasing to obsess over their sadistic schemes for anti-LGBQT oppression and instead letting everybody just get the fuck on with their lives, mind you, but I’ll take small victories where they occur.)
Considering the rates of divorce, someone should do the math on how many Republicans will be disqualified for this tax rebate based on the “Neither of them having been divorced” caveat.
It will also be funny seeing how many couples get divorced after this, when the one who has never been divorced finds out that their spouse never got around to mentioning their earlier marriage, which now disqualifies them for the tax breaks.
