NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

The best way to ensure voter fraud is to pull out of systems that help prevent it.

“Alot of things you can do with a hatchet… and a Nazi.”

So, “We’ll take your money. In fact you have to pay us money. But you won’t really be part of the league.”

Yeah, that’s better, all right.

They paid the money to use facilities which were generally only open to non-selective recreational teams, which being a competitively selected, elite team, they were not. But the rules were bent a bit to allow them to play for funsies against the other teams in the league, but not actually win a trophy.

No, the rules required them to play the rec teams. What was bent was they ended up playing in their own age group instead of the traditional playing boys two years older.

I’m not exactly sure where I stand on this, but the rules were also bent to allow them to stay together as a team. There is limited practice space/time, it was reserved for the rec league.

There was no age-appropriate older league (which would have allowed them to compete for a trophy), although one report I saw (purportedly from one of the girl’s mother) was that in the regular season they were somewhere in the middle of standings and went on a tear in the tournament.

I think a potentially deciding question here is if the team was informed that they were ineligible to be the champions prior to playing in the regular season. I’ve not seen a definitive report on that.

Note that per the rules as claimed now, a similarly constituted boys team would not have gotten the trophy either.

Sounds like I got this one right!

WASHINGTON — Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday released security video from the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, using footage provided exclusively to him by Speaker Kevin McCarthy to portray the riot as a peaceful gathering.

Carlson focused Monday’s segment on promoting former President Donald Trump’s narrative by showing video of his supporters walking calmly around the U.S. Capitol. He asserted that other media accounts lied about the attack, proclaiming that while there were some bad apples, most of the rioters were peaceful and calling them “sightseers,” not “insurrectionists.”

“The footage does not show an insurrection or a riot in progress,” Carlson told his audience Monday. “Instead it shows police escorting people through the building, including the now-infamous ‘QAnon Shaman.’”

I guess those 140 police officers injured, some seriously, just tripped while they were helping the peaceful tourists.

I also love how he complains that other media were cherry-picking the “44,000 hours of video” to find a few minutes that make it look bad, as he does exactly the same kind of cherry-picking to make it look good.

He’s calling it ‘propaganda’.
McCarthy fucked up giving that to him and, so far as I’m concerned, the entire thing needs to be released and available to the public.

“But in fact, the surveillance footage shows that famous clip was a sham, edited deceptively by the January 6 Committee. The clip was propaganda, not evidence,” Carlson insisted. “The actual videotape shows that Hawley was one of many lawmakers being ushered out of the building by Capitol Hill police officers. And, in fact, Hawley was at the back of the pack. The ‘coward’ tape was a lie — one of many from the Jan. 6 Committee.”

Tucker doesn’t seem to understand that if I say “that guy is running”, the fact that other people are running as well doesn’t make my statement a lie or propaganda.

Looks like he’s planning to air more of it tonight.
Again, this really needs to be in the hands of the public or at least make it available to all media outlets.

Keystone Kapitol Kops.

Hypocrisy isn’t a bug with Faux News, it’s a feature.

It’s the foundation. And the first several floors.

And by their own admission, in court, regularly.

Someone named Nick something is saying hes boycotting Pizza Hut. I googled to see why, and it has a reading program and one of the books is called Wig, about a child who wears a wig for a school contest, and it has an adventure of its own.
Wow. Books are sacred to me. I wouldn’t boycott them if one of the books was the satanic bible.
I wouldn’t read it, though.
When my check comes, I’m ordering from Pizza Hut.
Lord.

I wouldn’t recommend it. Very dull.

And it’s all sdrawkcab nettirw.

I boycotted Pizza Hut a few years ago, but not for anything like that. They started adding a piddly little surcharge to their checks, and “explained” that it was to defray the apparently ruinous costs of doing business in California.

Bitches, if you need to raise your prices in California, just fucking do it. I don’t need your transparently political passive-aggressive whinging on the side.

There is perhaps just a shred of integrity within the GOP.

CNN’s Manu Raju spoke to various GOP Senate leaders who shot down Carlon’s attempts to downplay attacks on law enforcement that day. “To somehow put that in the same category as a permitted peaceful protest is just a lie,” Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND) told Raju.

A Kansas Republican is furious because (checks notes) a 4th grader made a drawing of a rainbow.
