I’m no theologian, but isn’t the rainbow supposed to be a sign of the continuing covenant with God? Soooo, why not interpret rainbows that way, not froth at the mouth about ‘groomers’ and ‘woke?’

This is really starting to piss me off.
It helps if one remembers that the word “groom”, in all it’s variations, no longer means what it used to when certain folks use it.
And that’s very much on purpose. The GOP has said, outloud, that it purposely expands word definitions to the point that they’re meaningless, then they use it to get their base worked up. We’ve seen it with grooming, we’ve seen it with CRT, we’ve seen it with woke. It’s what they do.
Also, IIRC, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has asked them to stop using it incorrectly because it’s making their job, of educating people about actual groomers/grooming, a lot more difficult.
As an owner of a dog grooming salon, it actually worries me a little.

UPDATE: Apparently there has been sufficient backlash against these troglodytes that they have withdrawn their proposal. Too bad all Republicans can’t be shamed as easily.
Are you old enough to remember the '70s? People were putting these little arched-rainbow stickers on their car windows. It was a symbol primarily used by Christians, to represent “jehovallah’s covenant” as expressed by the rainbow that Noah’s family saw after the flood.
