NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

A horrible ball-tanning accident affected his brain?

WV Republicans have defeated a bill to ban child marriage.

Additionally, one of those Republicans seems to be bad at math and/or biology.

Uh, you sure he wasn’t just indirectly acknowledging that his 16-year-old mother “had to” get married because she was pregnant with him? Or am I bewhooshed?

Well, of course it’s gone. That’s why they named that bridge, “The Delaware Memorial Bridge”. - Steve Bannon logic

They’re just really advanced and hard working in WV. Clearly they can do in 6 months what the rest of us need 9 months for. /s

I wonder if his mother felt lucky at the time? Or now?

He’s right. It wasn’t a vote against women - it was a vote against children. Which is just further proof that they only care about unborn children. (Plus, they’re too young to vote anyway, so it’s ok to ruin their lives.)

How did you know his father’s name was ‘Lucky’…?

I’m not going to post a link to this because it’s VERY NSFW, but apparently Jordan Peterson retweeted a video of “cock milking” fetish porn because he thought it was some sort of Chinese breeding facility, and also retweeted a person claiming to be ex-trans who actually posted photos of prominent alt-right Youtuber ShoeOnHead.

This whole ‘detrans’ thing the right keeps pushing like it’s a cautionary tale never made sense to me.
The way I see it, if someone de transitions, it means (again, to me) they wanted to transition, they transitioned, they lived that way for some period of time and decided, for whatever reason, it wasn’t for them. I’m sure many people regret transitioning and I’m sure many people, probably even more, regret never transitioning in the first place. I’m curious if there’s any stats on how many trans people regret their decision?

Honestly, it makes about as much sense as the government trying to ban tattoos because some people get them removed.

I have to assume there’s a fallacy in there somewhere. Appeal to authority? Appeal to Spite? Or maybe just a general ‘arguing in bad faith’. Or just plain lying if Peterson is aware the person isn’t now/never was trans.

FWIW, Peterson has stated that gender affirming care is “Nazi medical experiment-level wrong” and he’s also of the people Musk un-banned on twitter, which says about all you need to know about him.

Steve( or is it scott?) Newgent is a big voice on twitter for that.

Pardon my ignorance, but isn’t “cock milking” just “jerking off”?

Let me Google that for you.

On second thought, no, I won’t.

In the sense that it’s not penetrative sex, yes.
What Jordan tweeted was someone using a fetish device similar to what you’d see milking a cow.

Here’s a link to the tweet with the picture. I know we’re in the pit, but I’m going to break this link.

It’s in the hidden summary, but the link is broken, nothing should show up if you unhide the link. But to be clear, the actual image is porn and very NSFW.

Also it’s worth keeping in mind that he’s not dismissing the fetish. He doesn’t even seem to realize it’s porn, he’s suggesting China is doing this to increase it’s population.

It’s like saying we should get rid of gender affirming care because you once saw a trans person get killed in a car accident in a movie.

The keyword here is “fallacy.” Fallacy implies logic. And there ain’t none.

Damn. I thought I was finally good at something hip.

Oh, I can see the thought process behind it. To them it means aha, so, this is something you can change your mind about… If some persons who transition later “decide for whatever reason it isn’t for them” then how can you be 100% sure ANYONE who at some point identifies as trans should be aided in affirming and transitioning. Better not do it! (Mr. & Mrs. Joe Average of the Right are entirely unaware of the degree of counselling and therapy and reflection that goes into truly initiating affirming care and transition.) It’s like when they say you can’t teach that some part or another of the US history or of the Bible is not quite right, “because then that destroys all faith in either and losing that faith is too high a stake”.

More basically yet, for Mr. & Mrs. Right, trans is one of those things that because they can’t wrap their minds around it, they are very open to being told therefore it must be bullshit, and even more, evil bullshit.

I know a guy who thinks that way about this very issue; and, on an unrelated note, he got married, and then he got divorced, and then he married his second wife…

This was/is the supposed gotcha for LGB people as well: “It’s a CHOICE!!!” To which my reply has always been, “And religion isn’t?”

Ah, but you see, religion tells you which are the RIGHT choices…
