“We’ve found an unimaginable amount of election fraud specific to these machines. We’ll be releasing a report in the coming weeks”
“Good. You can sit in jail until the report is completed.”
I think this will help Dominion in their attempt to prove that they suffered damages
ISTM it practically makes the case. I’m surprised anyone would come right out and say they’re getting rid of these machines because of the conspiracy theories. Or, as they said “For people to say we have free and fair elections without knowing all the things that have been going on and the things that we know, it’s just not true”.
At some point they’re going to be forced to clearly state exactly what these ‘things that we know’ are and I’m willing to bet they’ll offer up no actual proof or even concrete examples of anything. Instead, I think they’ll offer up anecdotes and things they heard. They they just have to get them to admit that these things they heard, they heard on Fox.
I’m curious how much longer then contract with Dominion is in force and how much it would be for them to just buy it out.
Actually, just quickly looking for any kind of numbers, it looks like Santa Clara is paying them about $14m over the course of an 8 year contract. I feel like it would be better to ride out the contract (or pay the remainder of it) just to avoid getting mixed up in this lawsuit.
(PDF, I found the numbers on page 31, I did not do any further reading, so it’s entirely possible my numbers are incorrect)
ETA, last line of page 174 in this PDF says it was just under $2m/yr. Not sure about the contract length though.
Forced by who?
Yes, but you’re coming at the question from a point of view where you know the conspiracy theories are all bullshit.
The problem with these low-level Republican officials is, a whole lot of them apparently actually believe the bullshit. They figure it’s worth getting sued if that means they can “save democracy”. I’m sure it will blow their minds when the judge tells them they’re in the wrong here.
Obviously, the packets are in Shasta county. Pretty sneaky of the Demorats to hide them in a red county.
My mistake. I was working under the impression that Dominion was suing them too (breach of contract?).
But in any case, could they be roped into the current suit against Fox as an evidence that they’re losing money because of the false narrative?
Probably, maybe…but they themselves wouldn’t suffer any consequences.
Is this Carlson doing an old timey racist Chinese impression for Trump? If that’s his real face, someone should tell him. He might want to get that looked at.
I’ve never seen that complication. Spot on! The Dude is correct.
I wouldn’t have thought anything of your post if Seth Meyers hadn’t mentioned it recently.
Ha…I just watched that Seth piece so that maniacal laugh was freshly imprinted in my brain.
The way Republicans just meekly do whatever our foreign adversaries want–always weakening either our security or our economy or both–will always remain a horrifying feature of our world.
(I don’t think there’s any doubt that the ‘MASKS ARE EVIL’ and ‘VACCINES ARE OF THE DEVIL’ messages have been encouraged and amplified by foreign agents. Not that Republicans need much assistance in letting their inner-stupid out.)
I assume it’s because he said “from public life,” so he was obviously advocating that trans people should be oppressed but not killed, therefore it’s libelous to imply otherwise.
Tan the Conman started this bullshit with his evidence-free ranting and still has not been forced to provide a shred of evidence to support his lies.
Who’s gonna force him?
Just because Trump doesn’t seem to get called out on his bullshit doesn’t mean everyone else will get the same treatment. Look at what’s happened with Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson and Rudy Giuliani and Rupert Murdoch.
If they can get all those people to admit their bullshit was bullshit, what makes you think they won’t go after a random politician in a city most people haven’t even heard of?
What has happened to Tucker Carlson?
