The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread
- Anatole France
My vital question of the day: “So, is ‘Sleepy Joe’ woke?”
Depends which side of their mouth they are speaking from.
It seems to me that, if one wishes to become a politician, then one ought to make the effort to go out and meet the people one is supposed to be representing.
Good one!
I asked everyone in my country club and nobody said they were hungry except for this one chap but I directed him to the buffet table and that took care of that.
Seriously though some feed the hungry organization needs to make a public invitation to take him on a quick tour of some of the areas in his district he might have missed.
Next they’re going to blame WOKE for making them racist.
The problem with The Onion is that it is almost impossible to make a mockery out of the mockery we are currently experiencing.
Marjorie Taylor Greene says we need to invade Mexico because cartels are planting bombs along the border.
The Border Patrol says it was a bag of sand.
Many politicians hold frequent events for the sole purpose of meeting all the people they represent. These events are called “fundraisers.”
That always seemed strange to me as well. They’ll repeat whatever they hear, so just give them something easy to remember, that sorta kinda applies while still maintaining the dog whistles.
When they first kicked off their campaign against wokeness, they got close by getting everyone to say wokeness is about making people feel bad for being white, or wokeness teaching kids that they’re racist.
It’s close enough that people don’t really push back, but it’s not exactly correct either.
OTOH, it’s going exactly as planned. The right has said before that when these kind of things [people being woke, in this case] start popping up, they purposefully expand the definition of it to be so vague and all encompassing as to lose it’s meaning. They did the exact same thing with Critical Race Theory. Look at how distracted people still are about CRT getting taught to 5 year olds. And I’ll continue to say, anyone that has a problem with CRT being taught to kids, won’t be able to tell you what CRT is if you ask them.
“a Fox News journalist” (in your link) is breaking my brain. Oxymoron of the decade.
Mouth?
Still amazes me how people think “breaking news” comes from a closed office from a politician rather than a NEWS source. How would a fucking senator know first?
Kentucky is introducing a bill that would make the state a “Second Amendment Sanctuary,” where federal gun regulations wouldn’t be enforced.
Similar legislation in other states has been shown to be unconstitutional because state law cannot override federal law. I don’t know why they think this would work.
The state is already deeply red. I can’t see this as anything more than trying to own the libs again.
Onion! That’s what I get for only glancing at the headline!
That sounds kinda foreign. It’s even got France in the name!
A judge in Amarillo is hearing a case that might rescind the FDA’s approval of an abortion drug that has been approved for over twenty years. If the plaintiffs win, it would affect all 50 states!
The Education Czar that believed some students were identifying as cats, just tweeted…whatever this is supposed to be.
