It’s very Zen, the bigot of no bigot. If you’re looking for outrage you can find it, but if someone challenges you on it, hey, it’s just a picture of some teenagers, you’re the real racist/bigot/pervert!
Ok that brings up a new possibility. The Webpage you linked to uses the term “People who Menstrate” which has gotten the right’s panties in a huge twist. So maybe to this page got linked to by some anti-trans source in a post complaining about its content, and Walters assumed that it was something in the picture that was objectionable.
On the other hand I also don’t see how two black girls grimacing at a white girls washing her hands supports the notion of period equality.
??? I thought for sure the whole “point” of that photo was that the girl washing her hands has a fake “kitty tail” on the seat of her jeans. Oh noes, students are identifying as cats and probably using litter boxes in the restroom instead of toilets!!!1!! (Hey, at least they’re washing their hands afterwards.)
Fuck, what an awesome initiative! Girls and women often need some support in an emergency. I’ve personally gone up to women on the beach, sunbathig in their bikinis and asked them for a tampon for my girlfriend who was shut away in the beach toilet, horribly embarrassed.
Not a single woman complained. It took maybe three groups of people before someone had a tampon in their bag that they could donate.
I carry around 3 to 4 in my backpack as part of the “medical aid kit” - I’m not going to use them but I do hike with women.
I just assumed he’s advocating resegregation of the Oklahoma schools. I’m a little surprised he’s being that open about it, but that WAS the impetus behind the charter school movement.
Actually, you might. Tampons were originally developed for first aid for trauma wounds. I mean, you really hope you won’t have to do any major first aid while out hiking, but best to be prepared.
Though if you’re ever out with a group and a woman in the group needs to borrow one, you might get some odd looks for having one in your bag.
