NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

he must be putting his own spawn on notice

It is real life Succession.

In case anybody was wondering about how to translate Trump’s claim “I got rid of the death tax on farms” into reality-speak:

Furthermore, the Trump-era law doubling the estate-tax exemption amount was written to sunset in 2026. Better die quickly if you want your kids to get that sweet sweet extra tax-free money!

We all know that Trump’s claims are nearly 100% bullshit. Except when he is warning his beloved children he might write them out of the will.

Thanks for shining a light on this particular bit of bullshit.

Is it time we change the name to Trumpshit ® ?

Heck, “the family farm” is, itself, mostly a myth. You know what the Republicans want to do to American farmers? They want to deport them.

A Supreme Court candidate in Wisconsin, who took part in Loser Donald’s coup attempt, refuses to say whether he supports democracy.

“She was too woke”

Honestly, my problem with the textbook publisher is that they are caving into this nonsense. Here’s a thought: don’t create textbooks for that state. Stop selling textbooks at all to the state.

But lusting after them is peacy keen, right, according to Tan-in-a-Can the Conman?

“Family Values” is kind of a morally neutral term.

I think that would backfire. It might mean there’s a bit of a transition period but the books will be replaced with something entirely of the right’s making. It’s bad enough to white wash history, but imagine what a history book would look like if it was written by DeSantis. It would be actual, literal, propaganda.

I originally thought the same thing about the teachers (and, to a point, the school board). If they just up and walked out, the school wouldn’t be able to function, right? Well, maybe, but they’ll quickly hire new teachers, and it’s going to be the ‘Lets Go Brandon’ and anti-CRT crowd filling the vacancies.

To a certain extent, I assume that’s part of the plan. They can either teach what we tell them to teach or they’ll quit and we can install our own people.

The result, of course, would be that a high school diploma from Florida and finally a university degree from Florida would no longer be worth the paper they’re scribbled on.

But does that stop at Florida?

Do we accept that the students in half the country receive little or no education beyond “'Murica Rocks!”?

In a capitalist society, why would they do this to the state with the 3rd highest enrollment (after California and Texas - Texas of course also known for its progressive values)? Some sense of moral outrage? I’m sure the stockholders would love to hear that.

More FLORIDA, abortion, rape, time limits, restrictions, hatred of women - you know - GQP policy.

I’d never oppose celebrating kindness.

But I suspect that the GOP functionaries overseeing textbook adoptions would find it completely unacceptable.

Teaching our younguns to be soft and weak—no, sir!

Well, that goes without saying. Look at that photo! She’s no Northern European!!!1!!!

That works as a term in New Floridian, which these children will be taught starting next year. “Younguns.”

A Georgia county has spent $1.2 million fighting to not have to pay $10,000 for a trans deputy’s healthcare.

Theoretically, it could make fiscal sense to spend a million bucks in court to avoid paying $10,000, if you want to set a precedent for all such future situations… but that would mean that they’d need at least 100 trans police officers for that to pay off. I have a hard time buying that that would happen in anything resembling a short enough time for this to make sense.

On the other hand, if your goal is just to hurt people…
