NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

CNN and Faux are both partisan and biased. But to equate them is just fucking stupid. Really fucking stupid.

I went to public school in a very rural, conservative, Catholic-dominated community. The only thing I remember about sex ed was some crude cross-section illustrations of men’s and women’s bodies, maybe a film or two, but condoms? Never heard of them. The first time I learned what a condom was was when I friend of mine was singing a crude song to the tune of “Stranger’s in the Night” (… “exchanging rubbers, if one is too tight, well there are others …” yuck, yuck).

“Gee fella’s, that’s a funny song. Um, what’s a rubber?” In my world rubbers were those things my dad put over his good shoes when it was raining.

The first time I saw a condom was when one of the kids in the neighborhood found a fresh pack in the woods. We all got one to try on (I think we were like 10 or something). The next time I saw a condom was when I bought one in college.

OMG, the “Sycophant Websites”!!!

On a more sober note – Idaho experiences the result of some very stupid Republican ideas:

You were taught how to make a safe fruit salad?

I expect to see a lot more this. Rural areas have been having trouble attracting skilled professionals for a long time. The basic economics of the areas simply make it difficult to support them at pay rates competitive with large population centers. So now, on top of low pay, they’re adding regulations to open them up to moral quandaries and legal liabilities. What doctor or teacher would want to work there?

Pretty much the point, isn’t it?

This one is too loose
It could fit a mooooooooooooose

Ha ha, forgot about that one.

Yep, that’s definitely nothing new. I grew up in rural North Carolina in the late '80s - early '90s; the medical care was basic compared to what I can find now living in a high-population suburban area. I know my father’s health ultimately suffered from it; even though he had the means to go elsewhere for medical care, he used local doctors for reasons that still aren’t clear to me.

The author of Florida’s “don’t say gay” law has plead guilty to embezzling $150,000 in covid relief funds.

$150,000.00?
You gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers in this racket.

Even more. Coeur d’Alene is overrun with “no education is good education” and recently voted down school bonds which fund about a quarter of their operations. Without those funds, they need to layoff 25%, shutdown about 25% of the schools, and shut down all sports. This is a bond they have approved for over 40 years.

Idaho = Idiocracy. Soon their drama departments will be having live performances of “Ow! My Balls!”.

except,

And when all the doctors leave, Republicans can blame it on Obamacare. Win-win!

Never heard it before, I’ve been cackling about it since yesterday!

Don’t kumquat inside her.

Yep. What is often missed is that the people in those power circles see the reduction of large parts of the population to peasantry to be a good thing because it restores the proper God-given order. Which somehow turns out God wants Social Darwinism to be the way the world works: if you can gain wealth and power, good for you, if not, accept your lot is to work and die for the first group. It’s ok, Jesus will make it good after you’re dead.

I believe one of the meanings of that is also against church teaching.

Faith makes it make sense.

You’re fine as long as you don’t toss the salad.

It’s in Genesis,

…he wasted his salad on the ground so that he would not give a meal to his brother.
