NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

This is more of a recyled rather than a new stupid republican idea:

Ted Cruz Uses Photo of Wrong Black Man in Fundraising Text About His Challenger

“This is Ted Cruz,” the Texas senator (read: his campaign) wrote in a message to supporters on Saturday. “I have breaking news: Far-left Democrat Colin Allred just announced he’s running against me in 2024. Allred doesn’t represent Texas values - not even close.”

The text included a photo of a Black man who is clearly not Congressman Allred (D-Texas); it’s Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who’s pursuing criminal charges against former President Donald Trump.

More at the link.

To be fair, though, it’s probably not like a largish percentage of Cruz’s supporters could tell the difference between Congressman Allred and District Attorney Bragg, or between any two Blac men for that matter.

I wonder how long it will be before the pubbies drop all pretense and just start using old minstrel pictures in any public media referencing Blacks. (Please tell me this hasn’t happened in recent memory.)

Well, well, well. A committee of the Texas House of Representatives has recommended expelling the hypocrite who led the campaign against grooming (read: false accusations against LGBTQ+ people).

For weeks this has been all the talk of those of us following the rumor mill of the Texas Legislature (we’re a small but friendly lot). Rep. Bryan Staton took a 19-year-old intern back to his apartment, got her drunk and had unprotected sex with her (apparently the first time she had sex). He then tried to intimidate her and her friends who knew about the encounter into silence. Slaton is maybe the most conservative member of the Texas House, which is saying a lot.

“You people obviously want to pressure youth into having sex with you, because I clearly want to pressure youth into having sex with me.”

I know it’s a tired, overused phrase but:

“Every accusation is a confession”

And he sponsored a bill that would force her to bear his child, too, on penalty of death!

No, no, “keep quiet about it” obviously means hiding any evidence that she was ever pregnant. Ergo, he was trying to get her to have an abortion, and ergo, she has standing to sue him.

Back to my previous home state of Florida for more Disney punishment.

Hey, if The Simpsons has taught me anything, it’s that monorails are death traps!

Tell me about it. In 1950, a elephant fell out of a German monorail into the Wupper River.

Aaaaand he’s gone:

Wow, a Republican actually held accountable by other Republicans! All it took was raping an intern, and the fact that he will undoubtedly be replaced by someone equally vile so there is no loss of power to them.

I hope he also gets charged with rape. Bastard

Turns out he’s also a minister.

Specifically, according to Wiki, he served for 13 years as a youth and family minister and his undergrad clerical degree was in youth ministry and communications.

Why won’t I be surprised to hear now of things going on long before election…

The seriously skeeviest people among us.

Hey, hey, hey! Be nice. So what if he wants to start an extra illegitimate family with a young’un youth? Remember he’s a republican. That means he wants the government to stay out of his personal life.

George Santos is going down!!

WITCH HUNT!!!

I’ll bring marshmallows.

Anyone taking bets on whether Kevin McCarthy even ACKNOWLEDGES that this has happened?

My money would be on ol’ Kev keeping George in good standing in all his House functions. Kev needs that vote!!!1!!

“He hasn’t been convicted yet!!”
