NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

Ah, I see in this more detailed account, she mentions being penetrated with objects.

So…indeed a gang rape then.
Yikes.

Feeling sympathy and even outrage that this woman was forced to endure a humiliating violation of her self does not engender a respect for her wackadoodle and even dangerous views.

Why does she think #metoo excluded her? My understanding is it was a movement for every woman who has ever been assaulted, harassed, raped or victimized in any way sexually.

The movement didn’t name anyone specifically, but instead called on women everywhere to join in and speak up. Why does she think this excluded her?

What a strange complaint.

Apparently all of the Ohio Senate Republican candidates support “the election was stolen”.

And the Pennsylvania primary debate went just about as well as Ohio. All of the others piled on Dr. Oz for not being a real Republican and conservative.

I’m reminded of a saying I heard once “Paint a monkey pink and put it in a cage with other monkeys will kill it.” I don’t know if it’s true, but if you put a pseudoscience-supporting ex-surgeon/prof. emeritus into a cage with Republican primary runners they’ll apparently try to kill him.

I have family in Oklahoma and in Mississippi. And in Florida.

I’m never going to be able to visit them ever again.

That horse is not dead. It’s not! It’s not! It’s not!

Another actual elected official sounds the alarm about schoolchildren identifying as animals and using litter boxes:

During a televised debate over a Nebraska school funding bill on Monday, Republican state Sen. Bruce Bostelman brought up an issue he found particularly troubling: furries.

“Schoolchildren dress up as animals — cats or dogs — during the school day; they meow, and they bark,” he said. “And now schools are wanting to put litter boxes in the schools for these children to use. How is this sanitary?”

To be fair, it didn’t take long for him to wise up and walk back toward where the sane people live:

But within hours of the debate, Bostelman backtracked and admitted the accusations were inaccurate…

Also stupid because Trump currently has a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and others for claiming he’d been working with Russia. How dare she accuse him of doing the thing he keeps doing?

Meanwhile in stupid Giuliani news, the next generation takes his turn:

Let’s just check the Creepometer reading on that:

Sexualizing your four-year-old daughter? Check.
Using her to take a swipe a trans people? Check.
Indicating that she won’t be allowed to date until she’s 25 years old? Check.
Calling yourself her “boyfriend” while your wife is asleep next to you? BIG ol’ check.

Not quite up to “Donald about Ivanka” level but he’s getting there.

My guess? She thinks that calling yourself a feminist while not also being an anti-Islamic bigot, means that you’re not serious about being a feminist.

OMG.

So NO ONE in Andrew Giuliani’s circle of advisors saw any need to say ‘maybe not say this stuff’…???

No one in his circle sees anything about those remarks that could bother voters???

Wow.

Bother voters? Surely, you can’t be serious. After all, 'twas a Republican who said that. Nothing bothers those voters except Democrats.

Mitt Romney says younger workers should have their retirement benefits cut because of the national debt (although he didn’t mention that the debt is at its lowest in years).

Not sure where to put this, but since Clarence Thomas and his wife are Republicans, I’ll put it here.
Nancy Pelosi: “It’s up to an individual justice to decide to recuse himself if his wife is participating in a coup.”

That’s objectively true. If you’d asked me I would have said the same.

My impression of the underlying principle of me too is that the women have felt compelled to not speak about the situation. They are/were humiliated by it, afraid to speak of it either due to possible negative consequences or because of some sense of shame. Hence, they are/were alone in a sort of personal hellbox that they felt they had to hold down for whatever reason.

What Lara Logan experienced was horrific and inexcusable. And there is an entire 60 minutes segment in which she talks about the incident in detail. That is significantly different from an executive secretary who feels unable to speak of the things that the men in the office do/say to her because speaking out will get her fired and maybe in a way blacklisted. Along with the unsavory vibe she has to endure at work, she lives alone with her fear.

Logan was able to speak out, and even in the very moment of her assault, she was ultimately not alone, as others did at last come to her aid. She has been afforded a grand catharsis and reaped a broad field of empathy that has been denied so many others. That none of the attackers will face any punishment for their actions is the only aspect of this case bearing a correation to me too.

Madison Cawthorn appears to be learning the hard way that Rule Number One of Republican Cocaine Orgies is “You do NOT talk about Republican Cocaine Orgies”.

I need to correct this error. It’s four MONTH old daughter.

How in the hell does he think a newborn shook his hand and made a promise to him?

Gawd all mighty.
