NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 2)

TN state senator Frank Nicely, speaking in favor of a bill to criminalize homeless encampments, argues that Hitler was homeless and he turned his life around, so why can’t you?

I mean, what he’s saying is accurate! Where’s the lie?

Direct quote:

So don’t just sit around, bellyaching! Be like Hitler!

Well, there’s an extra disconnect here, let’s say that, rather than praising Hitler, they are talking about Ghandi or something, and how he turned his life around after being homeless(I’m not saying that he did, factually).

What they are saying is that they would arrest the person for being homeless, which would prevent them from having an opportunity to turn their life around, essentially undermining whatever point it was that they were trying to make.

…being like Hitler.

That makes sense. Criminalize homelessness because Germany let Hitler be homeless and you can see how THAT turned out for all of us.

Instead, numbnuts wants to let us know how hard Lil’ Adolph worked to improve himself while he was homeless.

That would be a pretty silly argument, but at least it would be consistent.

And to prevent others from being able to turn their life around by arresting them for being homeless.

I’m sure his supporters don’t see the faulty logic here, which is why they are his supporters in the first place.

I can see the headline if this passes:

TENNESSEE BANS HOMELESS ENKAMPFMENTS

:+1: :+1: :+1:

Who knows, maybe a little time behind bars will allow him to write that book he’s been meaning to get to.

Gee, the party of Grab Em By The Pussy is shocked that their candidate for governor of Nebraska likes to grope women.

No words. Also not shocked.

Damn, these people REALLY want to celebrate that short period of time where they tried to destroy the USA for the ability to keep owning other human beings.

I think it’s less about honoring the CSA, and more about “triggering the Libs.”

ACtuAlLy, the term is “owning the Libs”…hmmmm…there’s that pesky “owning” word again! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

SpongeBob SquarePants has been on the air 8 times longer than the existence of the confederacy.

That is ever so very funny!

Hell, their idol and role model Adolf was in power for more than twice the length of the CSA.

Perhaps that is one reason the “pwned” typo gained such traction?

Loren Culp, the failed WA gubernatorial candidate and covid denier who was fired from his job as “chief” of a one-man police department after abandoning his post to investigate “election fraud”, claimed Monday that Facebook was deplatforming his congressional campaign and would be closing his account.

Turns out he got phished.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer more deserving entity.
I was going to say “person,” but I didn’t want to get dinged for asserting facts not in evidence.
