No silly. That’s what Hell is for.

Ohio pastor charged for housing the homeless
A city says the church’s 24/7 homeless outreach violates zoning restrictions
No silly. That’s what Hell is for.
It’s kind of like when a natural disaster hits a place they don’t like, like San Francisco or New Orleans or New York, it’s always “God’s wrath”, but you never hear that when tornadoes rip through the south or Florida gets hit by yet another hurricane. (Except from me. )
As linked in another thread, the whole “God’s Will*” thing is causing dissention in the ranks.
Good, good. Let the hate flow through you!
Am I a bad person for enjoying watching Steve Bannon coming to the realization that partnering with the Crazy Christians was a bad idea?
So who says he’ll forgive you
And says that he’ll miss you
And dream of your sweet memory
God does
But I don’t
God will
But I won’t
And that’s the difference
Between God and me
You could have stopped at this.
That’s wine for mass.
The Lord’s will from the Joke thread: A healing priest is in the process of a miracle
Priest: Stand up!
(The man slowly stands up).
Priest: Now walk my child, walk!!!
(The man slowly started walking and the crowd was shocked)
The priest then gave the microphone to the man.
Priest: Now what can you say upon this miracle of God!!??
Man: I still can’t see!
We’re going to have the same problem with the MAGAnauts after Butt Boogers passes on.
In a similar vein, two people answer the call from a ‘healing’ preacher to come forward, Mrs. Smith on crutches and Tommy, a small boy with a bad lisp. He send them behind a partition, does his mumbo-jumbo, the cries out, “Mrs. Smith, throw away your right crutch!”
A crutch comes flying over the partition. “Now, throw away your left crutch!”
The other crutch lands at his feet. “Speak, Tommy, speak!”
“Mithith Thmith fell on her ath.”
As when a hurricane hit Virginia Beach (headquarters of Pat Robertson’s CBN) shortly after he called down God’s wrath on Disney World for catering to gays.
Even more fucked up, that’s not even the view of their sects’ theology.
You know, if Johnson weren’t such an asshat, he’d make a great main character for an American version of Yes, Prime Minister.
Republican Jesus strikes again - an Ohio pastor has been criminally charged with a zoning violation for letting homeless people take shelter in the church during the recent sub-zero cold snap.
A city says the church’s 24/7 homeless outreach violates zoning restrictions
A lot of balls, that pastor following Christ’s teachings.
Loser Donald’s lawyers tell the Supreme Court that just because he’s constitutionally ineligible to be president doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be allowed to run and be elected anyway.
Former President Donald Trump filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in his attempt to prevent being disqualified from the presidential election. In it, the 45th president's attorneys say he believes he is immune from prosecution and that the 14th...
It reads, the section “cannot be used to deny President Trump (or anyone else) access to the ballot, as section 3 prohibits individuals only from holding office, not from seeking or winning election to office.”
The mind, it boggles!
This whole office/officer thing has been going on for a while now, I think. Someone on youtube just did a video that covered it. Legal Eagle maybe?
ETA, yup, Legal Eagle. In short, it would be weird for the constitution to be written in such a way that an impeached president was barred from holding any office except for the presidency.
Starts around 9:12
The whole “the President is not an officer” argument always struck me as incredibly spurious, given the opening paragraph of Article II of the US Constitution states:
The executive power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his office during the term of four years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same term, be elected, as follows:
as section 3 prohibits individuals only from holding office, not from seeking or winning election to office.”
I think when you’ve dug down to the Air Bud level of legality (“There’s no rule against a dog playing basketball!”), you should just give up.
This would actually be pretty cool if it worked that way, and the supreme court decided that Trump could be the Repbulican nominee but couldn’t actually be president even if he won the general.
I’d love to watch the right’s head’s collectively explode trying to decide who to vote for in that scenario. Remain loyal to someone that can’t win, almost certainly handing the victory to the other side or betray him and vote for someone else. Come to think of it, that might actually give their token 3rd party/independent/libertarian a fighting chance.
