NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

The store clerk then leans in closer to the officer, as if to whisper something, and quietly says to the officer “my manager told me I’m not allowed to ask people if they’re pregnant anymore, so I didn’t say anything”.

William Perry must be a prime suspect.

It’ll partition into Sylvania and the Penn Republic, of course.

I imagine he’s referring (for some reason) to a William Penn statue that the Park Service was going to take down. They’ve never said why.

Not sure if this belongs here or in the/a law enforcement thread:
A state rep is floating the idea of charging people for copies of police body cam footage due to the amount of time it takes for someone to redact sensitive information before releasing it. One Sheriff implied (IMO) that if this bill doesn’t pass, if they’re not allowed to charge people for copies of the footage, they’ll just get rid of the body cams.

“If something isn’t done, if we can’t find some way to make this happen, I predict there will be less body cameras on the streets in the future,”

Having said that, I’m sure there’s a very real cost associated with FOIA requests for people that are just being nosy or have no interest in it outside of the getting some upvotes somewhere. Maybe there could be a compromise in there. No charge for anyone involved in the incident or their family/lawyers as well as the media. But a random youtuber or the person that just wants to see it because it happened a block away from their house…maybe charge them.

I know where I land on the issue, that is, I think it should be free, but I understand how it can get old if they have a bunch of self appointed SJWs making FOIA requests every time they see a cop.

Also, for the sake of the argument, I’m working on the assumption that the redactions are necessary and not covering something up.

What are the odds that every single one of his products is made in China?

How about, when anyone requests it, or in any incident where a shot is fired, put it up on YouTube?

This is fantastic.

I’ll go a step further and suggest that all body cams are live streamed. I mean, that has it’s own problems, but it could be interesting.

I work for County Gov. About 15 years ago, we had a request for every email between about… 6 people. At the time we kept everything going back years and years. I think it was estimated that it cost us about 10k to search through all the back ups (tape at the time).

I don’t know why we didn’t just copy everything and just say here, knock yourself out.

Anyway, we changed email retention policy because of it. Keep the stuff you want/is important, everything else gets dumped in I think 2 months. There is a shit ton of chaff in emails.

Thanks, but credit Futurama for that one…

More Two Minutes Hate; Loser Donald says Obama is the current president again, something about dogs and ungrateful “females”, and declares “quickly says that!”

Sounds like Donald had a lot of first dates only.

That happens when you keep "forgetting your wallet. "

“Very stable genius” has always seemed a bit incel to me.

Technically Trump has actually had sex, so I suppose he is not an incel, but I wonder how many times his various wives and mistresses just closed their eyes and thought about grocery shopping instead.

Sounds like Mr. Ed.

Have any of his purported offspring ever had a paternity test?

Big pants.

I know of a certain Florida resident, formerly of Manhattan and Queens prior to that, who wears enormous pants.

I doubt there’s even one among us who would question the likelihood that that man would shoplift a refrigerator, should he see an opportunity to do so.
