I watched I Am Cait (and it’s the closest thing to a Kardashian show I’ve ever seen). Her (trans) friends made it very, very clear, behind the scenes and with cameras rolling that if she supports Trump, she’s going to alienate all her supporters.

I helped raise the flag at summer camp earlier the same summer that she won the decathlon gold, so maybe I was actually the first?
From what I’m reading she was the first to do a victory lap with a flag. I’m assuming that’s what’s being referenced.

Appointed, current crop’s appointment expires next year. I know one ex-commissioner, he finally retired last election; the insanity of the post-Trump era got to him, and more temperate voices were just being drowned out.
As far as changes with voting go… Maybe things will change around here someday, but basically, as long as you have an “R” after your name on the ballot, it’s going to be whoever is loudest/known to the most people (for good or ill) that gets the vote around here. That’s the way it has been for the 23 years I’ve lived in this town. The new crop of would-be politicians are all frothing lunatics, but better to vote for an insane Republican than to even entertain the idea of voting Democrat…
The best thing I can say about this area is there just aren’t that many people here, at least. (My county is larger in area than Rhode Island and Delaware combined, but has fewer than 50,000 residents).

I mean, if the R candidate is recently released from a mental institution, and goes around town with a tin foil hat and a toy ray-gun “neutralizing the evil” while screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs; While the D candidate is a normal person with long ties and roots in the community…

Monday was a Big Day for the House Oversight Committee, as they privately interviewed Devon Archer, who used to be a business partner of Hunter Biden. They were certain to get the goods on the Biden family.
As it turned out, this unsurprisingly turned out to be a whole lot of nothing. But that didn’t stop the Pubbies from trumpeting that it was a bombshell day. James Comer, who chairs the committee and has been very vocal about the whistleblowers, made the rounds on Fox and Newsmax that night, saying how ‘the walls are closing in on the Bidens.’
One problem, however, is that Comer wasn’t actually at the interview, nor did he participate remotely. In fact, Jim Jordan and Andy Biggs were the only Republicans present. It being recess and all, you know.
