NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

That’s from Pravda Sotsial’naya, not X The Site Formerly Known As Twitter.

Speaking of stupid republicans, Ogles decided to do a twofer, combining a trumpesque stunt along with a santosesque stunt.

Trump stooge and Republican Representative Andy Ogles has been caught in a major ethics scandal of his own making.

According to 11 amendments that he filed to his campaign finance reports on Wednesday, Ogles didn’t actually loan his campaign $320,000, as he previously claimed. That begs the question: Where did the money come from?

In November, the Tennessee congressman was found to have some irregularities in his campaign reports, thanks to an investigation by a Nashville TV station, NewsChannel 5. Among them was a $320,000 loan to his campaign from himself, even though his personal finance reports didn’t show a place where such a loan could have originated—not even a personal bank account.

That’s the Manchurian mangoesque bit. Here’s the “I’m not one but I play one on my résumé” bit:

Ogles claimed to have studied policy and economics at Middle Tennessee State University and calls himself an economist, but only has one community college economics course under his belt, which he barely passed. He later claimed on a 2009 résumé to have a degree in international relations, but NewsChannel 5 found that his major was actually liberal studies—a hilarious degree for a Republican politician.

And, just in case you thought he has any decency, look at this:

Although Ogles’s lies aren’t nearly as outrageous as Santos’s whoppers, he also has another possible financial crime on his résumé: $25,000 raised supposedly to build a garden in memory of his stillborn child. Except that the garden was never built, and Ogles refuses to say what happened with the money.

Now I’m in for a twofer post!

Colorado’s republican party wants parents to pull their children out of public schools.

The Colorado Republican Party called on parents Tuesday to pull their children out of public schools in the state, citing “LGBTQ indoctrination.”

“Our next policy aims to save Colorado children from progressive Democrats who want to turn more kids trans by requiring teachers to use ‘pronouns’ that do not make any sense and cause gender confusion,” according to a fundraising email sent by the state GOP.

Those jackasses actually believe the public schools’ use of a child’s preferred pronoun is turning the child gay.

I haven’t asked this question before and perhaps this is not the correct forum for it, but what do Democrats have to gain by “turning kids trans”? What would be their goal in doing so?

I cannot see any, unless it’s to attract votes among more progressive voters. And let’s face it; trans people have been with us since forever, though mostly ignored. Now, republicans act as if they’re a recent development.

I doubt very much that Democrats are “turning kids trans.” Democrats are simply acknowledging that such people exist. Why do Republicans have such a problem with this?

“Because Democrats are evil”. That’s it. That’s their entire rationale.

Because Republicans not only don’t want to acknowledge such people exist, they don’t want such people to exist.

Just take the stories from the '80s and '90s about “the homosexual agenda” to turn kids gay and replace “gay” with “trans”. It’s the same moral panic with a new coat of paint on it. Just like QAnon is just Satanic Ritual Abuse with a new hat.

The fact that he specifically says “We will be paying nothing!” before anyone even suggests that they’re paying anything means he’s paying a whole lot of something.

He won’t be paying. The rest of us will.

But when asked about the remarks, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said, “There aren’t any contacts with Donald Trump.

“Regarding [US-Russian] contacts on the matter of incarcerated and convicted individuals, we can say that these contacts must be carried out in total secrecy. This is the only way they can be effective,” he said.

Instead of the gay agenda, it’s the trans mission.

It’s always fear and hate. Reefer Madness comes to mind and going way back, “a woman’s uterus will fall out over a certain speed.” Today’s GQP has just refined the tactic for scaring their core and uses social media and captive broadcast systems to indoctrinate the cultists.

I saw what you did there. :face_with_monocle:

So you’re saying that pronouns are catalytic converters?

The Dolph Lundgren school of medicine.

“First rule of having secret plan is not saying what is plan! What is wrong with you?”

So just like with the MAGA slogan, he tries to rip off Reagan by announcing the hostage(s) will only be released after he gets elected but before he takes over, but he fails to notice Ron never announced such a thing in such detail ahead of time. Just that if elected he would get them home, no need to tell you how or when.

He wants everyone to know (think) that Putin is his best bud. I mean, if you make out with the Homecoming Queen under the bleachers, you’re not likely to keep it to yourself. Otherwise, what’s the point?

To make it happen again. But he’d rather get a high-five from the jocks now. Once again bringing up his amazing ability to make Ron and W look like Deep Thinkers.

Go to your room and think about what you did!

This was pretty impressive though.

For the same reason that Trump never reveals his sure-fire, can’t-fail plans to solve…everything. Overseas conflicts, health-care insurance, infrastructure needs–you name it, he’s got a plan that will Solve It. But he can’t reveal that plan until elected!

Oddly enough his fans never asked why when he actually was elected, in 2016, he didn’t implement any of these sure-fire solutions.

More and more I’m convinced that what comes out of Trump’s mouth does NOT fool his fans. They figure: as long as he gives us that sweet, sweet racism, sexism, and homophobia, who cares what he promises?

I don’t think they have very long memories.
