These lying, hypocritical bastards wouldn’t recognize the “spirit of Christmas” if Jiminy Cricket himself came up to them and offered a guided tour.
Wait, so this isn’t the spirit of Chrismas?
Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against “TRUMP” and “MAGA.” Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and “sick” as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke Military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA. MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Oh yeah I remember that part. That’s from the speech given by the “Spirit of Christmases I had to miss because my fat ass got convicted for hush money payments in an attempt to illegally influence an election.” Dickens cut that part out of the final draft.
He figured that would break peoples’ willing suspension of disbelief.
“This boy is Ignorance. This girl is Want. Beware of them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased. Deny it!" cried the Spirit, stretching out its hand towards the city. “Slander those who tell it ye! Admit it for your factious purposes, and make it worse! And bide the end!”
Every accusation is a confession, part 793;
The Kansas Supreme Court says the state constitution does not guarantee a right to vote.
Surely they have a right to vote in federal elections, no matter how lacking their state constitution is. No?
Is there a general right to vote is the CotUS?
Everyone being able to vote is so woke
A quick Google shows that scholars disagree on whether the Constitution contains a general right to vote (as opposed to protection from discrimination in whatever electoral process exists), but SCOTUS has explicitly identified a right to vote in multiple decisions.
Hopefully more than a Douglasian “penumbra”.
I think I read that they found the right crouching behind a penumbra, picking its teeth with an emanation.
There are 7 justices on the Kansas Supreme Court. Two of them were chosen by GOP governors. The other 5 were chosen by Democratic governors.
And your point…?
This is a Stupid Republican thread. 5 of the 7 KS justices were appointed by Democrats.
I get that part, but how does that relate to "The Kansas Supreme Court says the state constitution does not guarantee a right to vote…
Are you saying that justices appointed by Democrats hold that the state constitution does not guarantee a right to vote? That seems like a position that Republican justices would take.
Call me stupid or brain-dead or something. I’ll accept that. But please tell me what I’m missing.
At least two of the five Democrats must have taken that position, or the court as a whole wouldn’t have ruled that way. Democrats are at least as much to blame for this decisions as Republicans are, hence it doesn’t belong in the Stupid Republican thread.
Thanks, @Chronos. Somebody saw my point!
I don’t agree with this ruling either. But the stupidity seems to have crossed party lines.
That Democrat appointees hold that the state constitution does not explicitly, or has ever been found in case law to, guarantee a general right to vote might be telling us something.
If only someone (other than me) would like to search the Kansas constitution…
