NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

You are right, it is not “Christian”, but it is “Republican Christian”.

Senator from Montana says he’ll block funding for a new NFL stadium in DC unless their team changes its name back to the Redskins.

Three comments.

First that guy is a racist fuck.

Second, fuck whoever it was that decided that rather than allow the people of DC choose their own government , they would gave complete power to a politicians of campaign on how much they hate everything associated with the city.

Third, its a toothless gesture. The Commanders keep on going back and forth about whether they will have their stadium in DC, Virginia or Maryland. At worst this will just eliminate one of their choices.

And fourth, why is any level of government funding a football stadium, anyway?

Heaven forbid that multi-billionaires should risk any of their money on dubious decisions.

Privatize profits, socialize losses.

Fifth, I thought Reublicans didn’t want the government telling businesses what to do.

This one is just scary…I hope dems wake-up soon:

The leader of conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation argued the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity will reinforce a “second American Revolution,” which he said would “remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts told Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast how the Supreme Court ruling on immunity — which largely shields former presidents from criminal prosecutions for actions in office — should encourage conservatives.

We are going to take over the country and enforce our will on the majority, and if you don’t like it we will kill you.

He sounds nice.

Right? I’m sitting here trying to come up with a joke or something to make a light of the situation but my sense of humor is failing me at the moment.

All I can think is, “so you want to kill me and everyone who agrees with me? I’m not even surprised. No, I have no intention of letting you install a dictatorship in America, and I have no intention to simply shut up. If that makes you want to fight me, bring it.” I think it’s just what I expect now. And that itself is a concerning thought.

‘See! It’s those dirty socialists that want this civil war!’ ~ Soon to be heard from an elected conservative

When he has the balls to say it to an audience that isn’t Bannon.
Jesus Christ, do Republicans actually believe that anyone is afraid of them???

He’s mighty close to declaring the People’s Republic of America, isn’t he?

I’ve spent the last eleven years living in a one0party state. What many Americans don’t realize about this one-party state is that there really are authorized non-ruling parties (currently in China, there are eight). The key thing about those parties is their main platform plank is supporting the ruling role of the CCP, and their leaders are chosen by the CCP. Another thing is that the government here does not have three branches. Yes, there are the county’s president, the legislature, and even courts. But they are all part of the sole branch of government.

The recent immunity ruling, among others, from the current SCOTUS, shows me the Republicans in office are willing and able to turn the United States into a one-party, one-branch state. And the state governments, especially those with Democrats in the majority, will soon be subsumed.

If this disaster continues, the “American experiment” will no longer be an experiment in democracy.

Isn’t this essentially what the unitary executive theory is built on? That was a phrase I hadn’t heard since the Bush 2 years, but seems to be getting more play again.

Here is the Wiki article on the theory you mention. The UET holds there are no exceptions to the prez’s power over the executive branch. The one-branch government means every part of the government is part of that one branch.

Checks and balances-What are the checks if the President is unbalanced?

Why do you need checks and balances on the executive? The Speaker of the House just said not to worry. (The link goes to Yahoo.)

“Remember this: The president and the vice president are the only two offices in our constitutional system that are elected by all the people,” he said. “No one who is elected to that office is going to be prone to this kind of crazy criminal activity.”

It’s almost as if Mike Johnson has had his eyes closed for 8 years. And his fingers in his ears. And he yelled really loudly to make sure he couldn’t hear anyone around him. And he lived in the middle of a cave. At the bottom of the ocean. While lying in a sensory deprivation tank.

Or you know he’s okay with Trump being a dictator. It’s either one or the other.

So giving good BJ’s is a MAGA thing now? It wouldn’t make for a very appealing campaign ad, given who’s running the party…

If you choose not to click, basically there’s a minor Internet celebrity called the “hawk tuah” (it sounds like you’re spitting on him for lubricant) girl after her advice in the bedroom, and some right-wing/MAGA folks have taken it up as a slogan? Maybe the Dems need to push the “sex positivity” stuff more.
