NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

I don’t know. Every time they say “Kambala”, I think of that Three Dog Night song, and it makes me happy.

“Oooooooo… yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.”

Probably not what they were going for.

Isn’t that a Cirque du Soleil show?

It’s “Kamabla”. It’s like calling Trump “Dollnads”.

Oh. My mistake.

“Kamabla” doesn’t really fall trippingly from the tongue, does it? Not one of his best efforts.

Here’s my rewrite of Shambala:

Wash away my troubles, wash away my pain
With a vote for Kamala
Wash away my sorrow, wash away my shame
With a vote for Kamala

Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Everyone is helpful, everyone is kind
With a vote for Kamala
Everyone is lucky, everyone is so kind
With a vote for Kamala

Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

How will your life shine
With a vote for Kamala?
How will your life shine
With a vote for Kamala?

I can tell my sister by the joy in her eyes
With her vote for Kamala
I can tell my brother by the hope that’s in his eyes
With his vote for Kamala

Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Ah-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

How will your life shine
With a vote for Kamala?
How will your life shine
With a vote for Kamala?
Tell me how will your life shine
With a vote for Kamala?
(Tell me how) How will your life shine
With a vote for Kamala?

I think he was trying to come up with a riff on “kumbaya”, and whiffed it.

I think he can’t remember her name and can’t type. That’s it.

“Gonads” works for me.

I’ve been seeing Don-old, which is nice callback to the attacks on Biden and reminder that Don-old isn’t that much younger.

I commented on Trump’s post that Biden will crash the Democratic convention by saying Trump just can’t seem to quit Biden.

The first pro-Trump reply informed me that:

  • Biden is statistically the worst recent President.
  • Harris is a complete idiot with no substance to any of her positions.
  • Trump’s a jerk but the best choice by far for the future of the US.
  • Trump will lock down the border.
  • Get our unstable economy under control.
  • Put our enemies in a safe place.

I’m not sure what some of that even means. “Safe place” and “statistically worst”?

I’m pretty sure Harris has some substance to her policy positions. I know Trump does: racism, xenophobia, misogyny, fear of prison, revenge, and most importantly–self-benefit.

Vance’s position is atop a couch.

Do these people have any source of information outside their bubble? Apparently, not.

Technically true. Of all the US Presidents that have served since January 21, 2021, Biden is the worst.

But also the best.

As funny as the fake couch story is, a real issue is Vance’s repeated attacks on childless women, which reinforces the whole “Gilead” vibe of Project 2025.

My inlaws get all their news from FoxNews - TV and radio. As do all their friends. It really is an impenetrable bubble for many.

The part of this that concerns you shouldn’t be defining “safe place”, it’s defining “our enemies”.

It’s true! He’s the absolute worst President we’ve had in the past three years!

It’s literally all they have to talk about. Yesterday someone in one of my facebook groups complained that a restaurant charged him $4.00 for a glass of milk which is 1750% higher than it is if he bought it Aldis. In addition to all the people explaining to him how a restaurant works, they other (literally) hundreds of posts quickly devolved into those same talking points.

Wow, assuming his math is correct, Biden is doing an amazing job of keeping the price of milk low at Aldis.

Aldi’s milk is $2.95/gal or 18¢ for 8oz. 18¢ x 1750% = $3.15. Not $4.00, but within reason.

I did reply that I had to admit Trump has substance to positions. I said, “For example, you can take the substance bleach and position it inside your body to fight COVID”.

The claim was that it’s 1750% higher at the restaurant, so that would be 18¢ plus $3.15. $3.33; getting closer.

My point was that if it’s somehow the fault of politicians that milk is so expensive at the restaurant, those politicians should get the same amount of credit for keeping the price low at Aldis.

These are the same people that couldn’t think more than a few weeks into the future or they’d have realized how stupid it was to plaster these all over the country.

I mean, at some point, the gas price was going to come back down.

I’ve now seen at least a few Republicans like someone named Tony Schroder (of the Ohio GOP I guess) claim that Minnesota isn’t the Midwest, it’s Canada.

And on the topic of Canada
