For those curious Jesse Ventura tried to start a union for pro wrestlers back in the '80s. Hogan ratted him out. And essentially got him black balled from wrestling for a very long time. I found an article detailing the story. And Ventura does comment directly on Hogan and his appearance at the RNC.

Someone else will have to speak to the legalities of that. I do know that certain wrestlers are part of SAG if they’ve been in movies and TV shows. It’s treated separately from the wrestling career. That’s all I know.
