NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

If the sign was supposed to be in Spanish, it’s missing the upside-down exclamation mark in front of “Vota”.

If they set the translator to Spanish instead of Latin, it would have done it automatically.

A good example of David Mitchell’s theory about sign painters:

Totally off-topic, but how did you get the image to embed? I must not be doing it right since it never works for me.

I mean, she’s right about this, but it’s far too little too late, and very unlikely to happen. But nice try, Nikki?

Dunno. Sometimes it works for me, sometimes not. Maybe try collapsing the preview which works for embedding YouTube links?

For images, youtube clips etc, you need to post the link in it’s own line, all by itself.
For example, this won’t work https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRMyj3YuS94iLANcIx4QNdbYxCPZPU3gl01yg&s

But this will:

Mike Collins claims immigrants are hunting and eating ducks in the city park.

People actually do eat ducks. I have had duck a few times.

There is “eating duck” (which I have done many times) and “catching and eating ducks in the park” (which no one should do for several reasons). You can also eat pigeon but I wouldn’t recommend catching and eating an urban one.

No, it’s not. He hates America, and anyone who would consider voting for him probably also hates America. And people who hate America shouldn’t be voting.

:snort: Face eating leopards can’t change their spots.

And Nikki? When a person shows you what they are, again and again. Believe them. Having them stop talking about what they are does not change what they are.

hehehe, I was talking about the text, not the intention behind.

Yeah, I know. But what I said is something that can’t be said enough. So I said it.

I don’t think she actually believes that Trump and Vance will ever “change the way they speak about women.”

What she DOES believe is that she has a chance to be the GOP Presidential nominee in 2028. So it’s important both that she keep her name in the news, and that she sell herself as a ‘reasonable, sane, decent Republican.’

Good luck with your wholly amoral ambition and careerist ‘fake concern,’ Ms. Haley.

They don’t need to change the way they talk about women, they need to change the way they think about women.

Vance opining on the purpose of women in our society isn’t a vocabulary or grammar problem, it’s a problem with his thinking.

And how he was raised and the company he keeps. A life of brainwashing is not something that is easy to turn around.

I was listening to a bit of conservative talk radio today. I only have it in my saved stations because sometimes they have sports broadcasts on it. (Generally if I listen to conservative radio for more than a few minutes I get pissed off, so I try not to.) But anyway, I was switching between stations trying to find one that wasn’t on a commercial break, and this station was talking about the “Haitian immigrants eating pets” story.

The interesting thing was that they acknowledged that it was bullshit. But then they complained about it, because they said that it was such a shame, because the Haitian immigrants really are a problem, and that problem is being lost amidst the controversy from these false rumors that Republicans are spreading.

Um, no you dumbfucks. They are spreading those rumors because they’re trying to manufacture a narrative about a problem. If there were real problems, they’d talk about them. They’re making up slander so that they have a talking point to fire up the ignorant base.

They also did this mockery of mainstream media, where they said in a fake dumb voice, “those Republicans making up stories again, can’t trust them”, while admitting that yes, the Republicans are making up stories again.

Anyway, that was maybe two minutes and then I had to switch away. That’s more stupidity than I care to deal with.

I think their complaint is that this particular made up story which is so deeply insane that even right wingers are having a hard time taking it seriously is distracting from the other stories like the fictitious immigrant crime wave that are equally false but don’t make them sound like they should be institutionalized.

Yeah, you pretty much nailed it.
