It’s a mechanism for voters to get to know her, the undecideds who want to be comfortable with her. She was reassuring people she understands their concerns, unlike the guy who grew up rich and brags how rich he is.
The Presidential Debate serves several purposes. Delivering specifics on plans is on there, but becoming less important than the relatable factors.
Now if she starts that same response every interview or speech, it becomes insincere.

Given that this is a photoshopped version of the Montel Williams picture, I’m guessing at least some of Trump’s followers will see they’re being duped. On the other hand, if they haven’t realized by now that he treats them like they’re stupid…
As I say, I understand the need for a personal connection. However in the new media landscape, you have to be careful about, for example, answering different questions with launching into your story. That sht gets clipped and shared even by good faith actors.
It’s not a big deal, I’m just saying it’s one thing I’d be advising her.
Because she once dated Montel Williams, who looks somewhat like PDiddy. That’s right, it’s the “All Black men look alike,” shtick, especially to the Donald.
So I saw that picture and it’s a beautiful piece of slander. It takes a real picture of Harris posing with a man who has his arm around another young woman, too. And their outfits are casually “revealing”, i.e. attractive and not pantsuits.
The reality is that the face of P Diddy is photoshopped over Montel’s face. “But the picture is still suggestive!” Hardly. The other young woman is Montel’s daughter. Of course he can stand with his arm around both at the same time.
