NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

You could have ended it right here and it would have been just as stupifying.

Good grief! :woman_facepalming:t4: You can’t give a kid an aspirin in school these days. In fact, the kids can’t even bring their OWN aspirin to school.

I coined this expression some time ago:

Even the stupid is bigger in Texas.

When I was in school, kids weren’t even allowed to have their asthma inhaler on them - it had to be kept in the nurse’s office and they had to get permission to be excused from class and walk across campus to the office every time they got wheezy.

The idea that a school administrator would see a boy not acting boyish enough, decide “clearly they’re supposed to be a girl”, and whisk them into an operating room that same morning for a state-funded vaginoplasty is so far-fetched that it makes the Satanic Panic sound plausible in comparison.

When I was in high school (graduated 1966), if you needed aspirin, you asked the school secretary for some. She reached under the counter, brought out the big bottle of 500 aspirin, and dropped a couple in your hand. No muss, no fuss, no bother. AFAIK no one died of an aspirin overdose. Life was simpler then.

Yeah, I watch local news in the mornings as I get up and some of those attack ads boggle my mind. Cruz has got Kim Ogg to endorse him, in which she states she’s a Democrat who’s for him. Of course, that neglects to mention she’s a lame duck who got primaried for being a touch corrupt and a little too buddy-buddy with the powers that be in Austin and probably looking to switch parties soon and get a new job.

It’s a good sign, from a certain point of view. Apparently the Texas GOP is in a state of mild panic because they’re getting outspent on the race and their latest internal poll showed Allred with a 1% lead. Also, Cruz got his ass handed to him in their debate. Their latest new polling should be soon, which could go either way.

Of course, that’s well within margin of error but Cruz was leading by double digits in December so the steadily declining polling actually does represent something. He’s such an unlikable shitbag that he can’t even be trusted to win in a safe state.

Actually, some did.

Reye’s syndrome is a rare condition that happens in children after a viral infection or illness, especially if they took aspirin (salicylate) to treat their symptoms. Reye’s syndrome targets their brain, blood and liver. Symptoms can be life-threatening if not treated early.

She’s never had a real job, even though she was a state prosecutor, state district attorney, a Senator, and Vice-President of the country. So what is a “real job” to dumbass’s dumber one?

State prosecutor and state attorney general are not federal government, el genioso.

She worked for McDonalds in college summer breaks. Denying it is a douche-move.

I was wondering. Now that I’m not in Houston, I didn’t know those local details. I figured it had something to do with her own political career interests beyond the current post.

To be fair, I think the actual stupid panic is that some boy would express the idea they are a girl, rather than some administrator would make some arbitrary assignment.

But what about all those girls getting penises magically attached to them? Nobody thinks of the girls getting genitally mutilated!

That’s not what Orange Jesus has been saying.

You can tell Eric is the dumb one. He’s the one who looks most like his father.

Something where you “sign the front of a check”, apparently.

A Pennsylvania school board spent $8700 to install windows looking into gender-neutral bathrooms so they can make sure they’re being used appropriately.

Have you seen Barron? From all accounts, Trump never paid attention to his older sons until they became adults. It will be interesting to see if having a son that looks so much like him will cause narcissistic Trump to be jealous or prideful as Barron gets pulled into Trumpworld.

I didn’t dispute the surgery part, just the part about the school admin deciding the boy isn’t masculine enough.

I’ve avoided Barron because he only recently turned 18 and hasn’t played a role in Trump politics or crime business. He does look like daddy.

And now the wannabe dictator’s sidekick goes full Big Lie.

(Reuters) - After dodging the issue for weeks, Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance said unequivocally on Wednesday he believes false claims that Donald Trump did not lose the 2020 election.

Taking questions from reporters at a campaign event in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Vance was again asked if Trump lost to President Joe Biden four years ago.

“On the election of 2020, I’ve answered this question directly a million times. No! I think there are serious problems in 2020,” Vance said. “So, did Donald Trump lose the election in 2020? Not by the words that I would use.”

I wonder if one of those words is covfefve.

I’ve only watched the first half so far, but that’s not how It’s describe it. In particular, Allred isn’t doing himself any favors saying Cruz is trying to distract voters while trying to distract voters. The whole trans segment he spends pointing to abortion rather than any attempt to explain the nuance of his dismissal of accusations about boys in girls sports.

Now I’m sure that nuance is a hard sell in Texas. But ignoring it, he comes off dishonest and evasive.

Cruz actually did make a clear statement on Jan 6 violence.

Yeah, but we’ve all heard the stories of teachers using their own money to buy school supplies, like penises.

tampons, condoms…

I’m unsure what to say.

Facts first, I guess. There actually are “Standards of Care for the Health of Transgender and Gender Diverse People,” developed by medical professionals who deal in this area (this was once called the “Benjamin Protocol,” though I don’t know if it still is):

In short, no teacher, educator, school administrator or adult in a child’s life can persuade or force a child or teen to transition. That’s left to the child, the child’s parents, and the medical professionals. To whom the teacher, in consultation with the child’s parents, should refer the matter, should an indication arise: for example, Jonathan wants to be called Jennifer. According to the Standards of Care, teachers, and other adults in the child’s life (unless they are physicians) are unqualified to make that call. Refer to parents, medical professionals, sure, but it is not the teacher’s call.

The process is long—it typically takes over a year—and would be difficult for anybody, especially children and teens, who are already dealing with puberty, hormones, and growth spurts.

I watched a friend, Peter, transition. Like I said, it took over a year, and it was complicated. There were many psychiatrist visits, many “Are you sures?” and many other things, including electrolysis to get rid of his beard permanently. In the end, Cynthia emerged happily from the surgery, but it was most assuredly not day surgery. There was at least a week in the hospital after, if memory serves.

That’s what Trump is implying: that Johnny will go to school one day, and come home as Jenny, having gone through surgery. No, this is not a one-day procedure. It takes over a year, psychiatrists, other medical professionals, hormones, and a lot of non-medical steps to get to the point where a surgeon will do it. No teacher can order it; only a medical professional.

But Trump is too stupid to realize that, his advisors are too stupid to realize that (and if they do know, they’re shutting up about it), and Trump’s fans are too willing to believe that that happens.

My bold.

What the fuck kind of doubletalk is that?

Trump isn’t just implying it. He’s outright saying it.
