Sure, it’s a bit of a self-selecting crowd that’ll watch a debate for a Senate seat but viewers responded 2-1 that Allred won. Whatever else is true, in the ways that can actually be measured especially considering that the polling is just among Texans who should favor even a generic incumbent, Allred handily won that one.
On top of the other bad numbers for Cruz (tightening poll leads, high unlikeability with voters, etc), the GOP (state and national) can’t be happy that time, money, and attention have to be spent on this race.
It shows just how out of touch Ted must be that he thought he had a legitimate shot at winning the party’s nomination for POTUS.
I was in high school at about the same time and I remember when I had a headache I either went to either the coaches’ office or the school counselor and asked for an aspirin. They would hold out the aspirin container for me to take one or two; for some reason handing them to me was considered “dispensing medication” and not permitted. However, making it available for me to take was okay.
Yeah, but how many MAGAs do not believe that, since Trump has said it’s happening? Facts do not seem to matter or even be recognized if the facts are something they don’t like/approve of.
I’m sure the anti-trans MAGAs (which I guess is almost all of them unless they have a trans loved one) consider all transitions bad, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they consider male-to-female “worse” than female-to-male.
I live in PA so am getting inundated with ads. One of which hits at Harris for advocating for prison inmates getting gender reassignment surgery. I looked for the ad online, but couldn’t find anything I could link. They end with something like, “Kamala is for they/them. Not for you.” I don’t think they even understand how offensive that sentence is. Rather, they think that a pithy line that will grab people. It infuriates me every time I see it. I could have an argument whether we should be giving prisoners gender reassignment surgery and I can imagine arguments for and against. But that last line just denigrates all transgender people and is absolutely offensive.
It’s ironic, because Republicans are for they/them. By which I mean “themselves only”.

I’ve seen that ad. It specifically calls out a man who was convicted of murder, then transitioned to female. The implication being it was done solely to get moved to women’s prison, though it’s not stated. This is juxtaposed with Harris taking credit for getting transgender people care, including surgery. It’s definitely targeted to offend.
I’m sure they know how offensive that sentence is. It’s targeted at all the folks who hear “they/ them” and disparage the pronoun use.

Deliberately so, I would guess. Any focus group testing they did would turn up something like: ‘this ad makes viewers confident that Trump will hurt those they fear and resent, and so increases the viewers’ motivation to get out and vote for Trump.’
I fast forward through most ads, but particularly political ones, but if I saw correctly isn’t part of the “Harris advocating for prison inmates getting gender reassignment surgery” the implication that “your tax dollars are being used to pay for this”?
Yes, that is part of the argument. Prisoners should be tossed in a dark box to starve to death, though maybe the white ones get to be on a chain gang and worked to death. As few tax dollars as possible should be wasted on these degenerates and should go into billionaires’ pockets where they belong.
