NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Wrestling has long been a business strongly associated with the Deep South and run largely by a billionaire sexual predator who’s been best friends with Trump since the '80s. Like attracts like.

It used to be worse - Dick Murdoch, for example, was a card-carrying KKK member.

Those who know it is part of the US don’t want it to be. One of those who don’t know it’s part of the US got elected president. And the bigot “comedian” really did dumb down that so-called joke. (Either that or he’s that dumb himself.) Puerto Rico’s in the Caribbean and thus the Atlantic Ocean. The Great Garbage Patch is in the Pacific Ocean.

p.s. @Smapti Did I miss your posting the script?

I didn’t. I figured I would if people balked at watching an 18-mimute video, but you’re the first to ask.

I watched it, but in 2 parts. I have an ADD-short attention span.

I think a transcript would be appreciated. Your piece was very well constructed. You have a talent for writing.

I’ll do that later tonight when I get home from work.

Jesse Watters says that his wife not voting as he commands her to is equivalent to adultery, and Charlie Kirk agrees.

Wasn’t Watters the same guy who got his wife to fall in love with him by sabotaging her car or… something?

And he was already married, too!

It’s like Republicans saw that ad about women having to hide their vote from their husbands and decided to prove it right.

Yet he hasn’t cut his mother off. I wonder what she has to say about this .

Hannibal Lecter: We mustn’t judge too harshly, ekedolphin. It was his first time.

It’s pretty sad that in 2024 women have to be reminded that their partners can’t tell them how to vote. I got two pieces of mail from voter organizations this week and both noted more than once that your vote is secret and no one will ever know. Both were just general information, not specifically targeted for women. It’s beyond sad that anyone needs this reassurance, but these are the times we live in. Fuck Trump.

Infidelity and duplicity in men is totally OK with these guys, it’s women and other lesser creatures who have to have unquestioning obedience and loyalty.

His mother is his father’s chattel, so not his problem. Unless, I guess, his father is dead and he is the eldest son - then he may control her. [/s]

You’re missing the misdirection of the “joke”. He said “there’s a huge floating pile of junk in the middle of the ocean” - he didn’t say which ocean; you assumed Pacific because of the FLOATING island of plastic. Now, if you wanted to be pedantic about the “floating” part, Puerto Rico isn’t floating - it’s quite solid.

They are clearly following the teachings of the Bible, as this pastor so eloquently explains:

Full quote here:

Extra clarity:

“But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.” -Ephesians 5:24

Now, submission does have limits. A wife doesn’t need to submit to her husband in sin (in this case voting democrat). In such cases, she submits to her heads’s Head—Christ. But outside of clear accounts of sin, she ought to conform and be one with her husband in all things.

“And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.” -Mark 3:25

There is a growing Christian nationalist movement (I think JD Vance is related to it) that believes the husband should vote for the entire household and that those with children should get more votes. They also believe non-Christians should not be able to hold public office. And they are building schools across the US to indoctrinate children in these extreme views.

The second season of this podcast discusses one influential group out of Idaho (it’s a good listen):

Damn Poe’s law! I actually had to click on your link and check out his other Xweets to tell whether he was being serious or sarcastic. And even reading those I still can’t tell for sure. I think he’s serious

I was quite sure he was serious. Until I read this gem:

Last night, my wife and I realized how rare it is to see:

(a) Families in their 20s (b) who have more than two children (c) and who aren’t overweight.

Now I’ve decided that he’s both serious and genuinely stupid.

Paul was an incel.

81 year old woman votes for the first time

She’s never voted because her husband wouldn’t let her. He died last year.
