NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Trivia tidbit: the C-97 sitting out in front of was used in a Mercury Cougar XR-7commercial that featured Farrah Fawcett.

I heard an interview with Vivek Ramaswamy on the radio this evening. There was one choice quote that deserves to be in this thread. I searched and found a transcript of it at the New York Times.

At the end, he says:

Vivek, if you’re going to quote one of the founding documents of this country, try to get it right.

(I only heard the last few minutes; there may have been more such wrongness sprinkled throughout.)

I mean, “life, liberty, and property” WAS one of the slogans of the Founding Fathers, although the last bit didn’t make it into the Declaration. (Thank you to my AP US History teacher for teaching me that, even though I failed that class because I was checked out at that point and just coasted through my junior year so I could get a diploma through the independent study program.) This is a nitpick at best.

I guess so - I mean, there’s only 8880+ posts in this thread as of the time I write this.

Yeah, I get that, though it was around ten posts above your question. The goverenment in their county has to spend all that moeny to protect the election workers from the lunatics. I can easily see the rabid rightwing republicans (very repetitive in addition to alliterative, huh?) demanding the record from those cameras be used to prove how someone voted.

Nah, Trump’s not one to get hung up on or bring up past events. Trump was demostrating what he’ll be doing in the near future to his cellmate when he loses the election.

I’m frankly surprised that he didn’t use the opportunity to engage in a little extra bit of misogyny by claiming he was doing a Harris impersonation

It came after your post. It’s helpful to read the posts to the end before you reply.

Or to Putin.

I thought he was demonstrating why Putin likes him and Kim loves him.

Or what he’s already done for Putin. I mean, look at those photos and videos from the 2018 Helsinki summit—the ones that so many people added a digital leash to:

Maybe Trump looked so cowed because he just wasn’t used to being required to perform that particular service.

I’m confused - her post about cameras came AFTER the post where I mentioned 8880+ other posts? That doesn’t make sense.

eschereal posted #8850
enipla (he/him) answered in #8852
Broomstick posted #8858 asking eschereal, what enipla already answered in #8852.

I dunno, maybe you read it enipla’s post but it didn’t register.

Oh, I assumed that was cameras in the general vicinity, it never occurred to me that they were set up to film people as they voted. That would, in fact, be completely illegal where I live. I suppose that wouldn’t stop the truly determined, but in my state people have been arrested for taking selfies with their ballot (I don’t know if charges were ever seen through to court with that, though). I’m a big gobsmacked that would be the case anywhere.

Trump: It’s okay that I don’t have enough bullet proof glass, the fake news media people will act as human shields if someone tries to shoot me “and I don’t mind that”.

Noted loser Herschel Walker tells Trump’s rally crowd to vote for Donald Jr.

Marco Rubio thinks that Kamala Harris broke the law by (checks notes) appearing on Saturday Night Live.

2-3 million votes for Harris, maybe.

But insecure men do so hate and fear a laughing woman.

In particular when she laughs at him, and even moreso, if the woman has “bad genes” (which of couurse is highly correlated with skin colour).
