Nobody told the Cao campaign that grandpa needed his nap before he went onstage, and they jumped the gun with their campaign email about how great his speech was.
Here’s the live stream. It started 3 hours ago and trump shows up at -20 minute mark as of right now.
As amusing as this story is, as someone that used to work in event production I’m disapppointed that no one’s showing the clip where he threatens to use physical violence on the backstage workers, and the crowd cheers him on.
At this point there’s such a wealth of ‘clips of Trump that have great potential to motivate Dem votes’ that some things that SHOULD be highlighted by the campaign, may not be highlighted. And of course we can’t count on the mainstream media outlets to highlight them.
Somehow the idea that Trump ‘doesn’t mean it’ when he threatens violence has taken over newsrooms. To our detriment. His attempts to paint a target on Cheney, and this new one in which he delights his followers with his wish to commit violence, should be being played hourly at least.
Did you miss enipla’s post about the cameras?
This just ended 2 hours later. That was… interesting.
He unexpectedly stayed the night in Milwaukee. He was here yesterday (as was Harris), and was supposed to leave last night. This morning I could see Air Force 2 and Trump Force 1 parked next to each other (which meant two motorcades mucking up traffic and slowing down business).
Trump is notoriously averse to staying over unless it’s at one of his own properties, and unless I’m mistaken there’s no Trump Milwaukee. I wonder if his health is degrading to the point where his doctors don’t want him flying more than strictly necessary.
He was bragging about the 25,000 people outside and said “Can we get a video of that?” Never happened so apparently not!
ETA it was probably incompetent IT
I thought it was odd as well.
He stayed at a hotel called The Westin Milwaukee, which, as far as I can tell, is just a Mariott under a different name.
A little detective work can turn up some contextual data that will help. Based on the source being broadcaster WHIO, I’m pretty confident that it’s Clark County, Ohio.

Looking at their website, they have a “presidential suite”, but it doesn’t look particularly fancy. I’ve stayed in similar-sized suites (and one-bedroom apartments on Airbnb, for that matter) in downtown Seattle for about $150 per night.
Strange indeed that his team wouldn’t book somewhere nicer for him.
Nobody else would comp him or extend credit?

Maybe he’s already stiffed all the nicer places. Or maybe their best suites aren’t named the “Presidential” suite.
I googled “nicest hotel in Milwaukee” and the first result was a place called the Pfister, which looks much more to Trump’s taste;
They don’t have a room called the presidential suite, but they do have a governor’s suite and a grand heritage suite, both of which look much nicer than the one at the Westin.
Either Trump is a sucker and just demanded something called a presidential suite without bothering to see what it looked like, or his staff fucked up and the Westin was the best they could do.

That’s where Harris stayed. Really nice place. I’ve been to a handful of weddings there.
Also, that’s a weirdly tinted picture. I was in that lobby just a few weeks ago (for one of said handful of weddings), and it’s much closer to this:

That’s my guess.
Or this was the only place available after the staff mixup with the West End Total Landscaping.
I would much rather stay at the Don Q Inn, which is not very close to Milwaukee, but that is not such a bad thing.
Quixotic design, that.
What’s with the colouring in the sky? I assume it’s just artifact but in some ways resembles a chinook cloud.
Okay, in one way.
the Don Q Inn
I was today years old when I found out that the episode of the Simpsons where Homer and Marge go to an erotic theme hotel to try to rekindle their sex life was based on an actual thing.
