Wait, do facts suddenly matter to JD Vance?
Oh right. I forgot.
I was told there would be no fact checking in this thread.
They’ve insulted Kamala in countless ways since she became the candidate. I don’t get why “trash” particularly lands as beyond the pale.
That said, in terms of overall tone in this final sprint to the finish, it’s been astonishing. Trump and JD have just doubled down on the hate, with Trump focusing on old grievances like Mueller while throwing in own goals like fellating a microphone and “whether you like it or not”. Trump’s campaign team must be watching all proceedings through a facepalm at this point.
By contrast, Tim Walz’ last motivational speech I think in Wisconsin, had me genuinely tearing up (and fired up).
I can’t imagine a greater contrast.
Calling a woman “trash” has specific implications. Not suggesting this is the first time this despicable ticket has demonstrated misogyny, but for the VP candidate to call her a name one click lesser than “whore” is, I think, noteworthy.
Ah ok, it’s probably an American vs British English thing (I’m British).
In British English, you can trash someone, or say that someone or something is trash, but it doesn’t (AFAIK) carry any sexual or misogyny connotation.
Anyway, I get it why this lands then.
It’s also the usual hypocrisy of it - it’s fine for them to do it but not to have it done to them.
Sadly, for anyone still in thrall to Trump, the incoherent rubbish he is coming out with will likely produce similar feelings for them.
Male sex concubines so he’s light in the loafers, I guess.
Jeeze, he must think the US military just sucks. I mean, they’ve been trying to genocide Christians for 70+ years, and there’s still hundreds of millions of them around? I thought the US military was good at blowing shit up and killing people.
So then it’s also a conspiracy.
Good going, guys.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that the vast majority of people killed in Nagasaki were Shinto or Buddhist.
I admit that there may have been a few Christians there too. And by that stage of the war, probably quite a few atheists.
that would be a logical conclusion… tucker is not logical.
I was just there. Lots of info in the museum about the destruction of Urakami Cathedral (very near Nagasaki ground zero) in which a few dozen Christians were killed. Nagasaki is currently the most Christian area in Japan. I don’t know what the % was at the time. “As of 2002, there are 68,617 Catholics in Nagasaki Prefecture, accounting for 4.52 percent of the population of the prefecture.” (Wikipedia) Currently 1.5% of the population of Japan is Christian. (Alsø Wiki)
By contrast, 85% of Ukrainians are Christian (Alsø alsø Wiki).
Thank you. Some small amount of ignorance fought.
Tucker’s assertion is still ludicrous, however.
That would be expected by any sensible person. I trust Jim Henson’s Muppet Show more than I trust Tucker.
At least the Muppets are funny, as well as silly .
Kermit used to sing all the time about how difficult it was to enact climate legislation.
I would trust the Feebles more than I trust Tucker.
