NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

I feel so woke! Two of the games I own are in the red! WooHoo!

Can we gift Florida to Cuba while we’re at it?

Or just secured. ask the Cubans about Gitmo.

Start closing every road crossing into Texas, make every flight international, and let them enjoy their private electrical grid. That’s been working out fine so far, hasn’t it?

Wow this is both frightening and hilarious. One has them upset about a plus-sized mermaid. Or apparent unrealistic diversity *in middle earth". Or how a person of color - Miles Morales - overshadows Peter Parker in the Miles Morales specific game.

Imagine being upset by this stuff.

I say we change the messaging. Share this list often and everywhere, promoting it as a list of inclusive game recommendations and openly thank the Woke Detector people for their help to identify games where 2SLGBTQ+ and “DEI” people can feel represented.

Yeah, it’s almost at parody levels.

This whole situation we are in now is at parody levels that are both frightening, unbelievable, beyond crazy and at times hilarious. But I just can’t laugh.

“Most alien characters and fauna are not sexually dimorphous”? Bwuh? And Age of Empires is yellow because some villagers are female? And “Contains PoC characters despite the previous game not having any”?

Side question: why did it change “at” to “@“ when you quoted me? Weird!

I’d be ever so happy to have Canada annex the PNW. I enjoy CBC and would be willing to watch hockey.

I just change something innocuous to avoid the whole quote disappearing when I post.

I don’t change anything that will alter the meaning. Sometimes I change a can’t to cannot, etc. Or I occasionally remove a comma. The entire post disappears if I copy into the reply without a slight change. I just recently became aware of this after struggling with the quote system here.

I could start just adding a random letter at the end of each copied post as well…

Sorry…

Oh, I’m sorry. I wasn’t complaining or suggesting that you’d changed anything without my permission! It was just an oddity that I noticed. So it disappears when you quote someone? That’s very peculiar. I wonder if other people have a similar issue. Anyway, no worries,. :grinning:

LOL yes it is a bug in the system that I mentioned in a post a few weeks ago and the only fix at the moment is to slightly change something in the original quote or it disappears.

I typically like to quote so my comment makes sense and I was becoming increasingly frustrated!

No worries.

And yes - let Texas be the country it has always wanted to be!

Just add a period to the end, and then edit it out after the post is, er, posted

It mentions Sadie Adler in Red Dead Redemption 2 acting like a modern-day feminist (after her husband is killed and her house burned down and she falls in with the van Der Lind Gang), which, given her circumstances, is completely reasonable.

But, despite its “wokeness,” doesn’t mention The Last of Us 2, where the main protagonist is a lesbian (there’s even a scene at the beginning of the game where they discuss someone calling her a not-so-nice name after another female character kisses her in public…and towards the end of the game, you actually see the scene in question), and one of the major side characters is transgender?

RDR2 was released in 2018. TLoU 2 in 2020. That tells me roughly when this list was compiled. Imagine how bad that list would be if it were updated to today.

Boudica must blow their minds.

You think they’d actually read any history that doesn’t reinforce their notions that women are property?

Nah, it tells you nothing, because it’s just plain a bizarre list. Like, it doesn’t have any of the Starcraft or Diablo games, but it does have games like “Yearning: A Gay Story” and “Juicy Futa”.

Are those games available on Steam? It might be limited to that platform only.

I laughed at the one for a game called (I think) Destroy all Humans which is not recommended because it’s “anti-human”.

These people have no imagination.

Oh, and one about “unrealistic diversity in an elementary school for 1981” because we all know visible minorities didn’t exist back then.

I can’t imagine being that fucking stupid.

I own that game, it’s awesome. Cheesy 50s B-movie aliens using weirdo gadgets against humanity.

The humans are also uptight conservative 50s sitcom stereotypes pushing American values and griping about commies.

I can see how it would irritate the kind of person that would bother to make a list like this.

Plus they’ve got their very own electric system, not chained to – er ah, connected to the rest of the US grid! What could possibly go wrong?
