I have the vapors.
Tommy Tuberville, in a bid to remain the stupidest Republican in Washington, launches idiotic antivax screed.
“At the end of the day [RFK jr] believes that we don’t all need to be guinea pigs,” Tuberville said, adding of the COVID vaccine, “Everybody in this group has lost somebody … possibly from the vaccine that were perfectly healthy.”
Somebody who almost certainly encouraged the college students he was responsible for to stay in games despite injuries - especially head injuries - has no business commenting on public health at all.
Oh, Tommy’s a real role model and leader. When Keebler Elf Jeff Sessions wants to criticize you, you might not be great.
Naw, we can just use the X-Wing drone in the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum .
(It’s a Boeing cargo drone prototype with a costume on, made for the opening ceremony of Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World.)
Republicans are going to shut down the government right before Christmas because President Musk told them to.

Someone in one of my neighborhood facebook groups found a bunch of these. No idea what’s in them, but it appears to be rat poison.
It could be. It looks like rat poison is usually given a bright color, but not always.
My first thought was that it looked like wood pellets. My dad has a pellet stove and those look a lot like what he uses in it. Here is a close-up picture of stove pellets.
But here is a photo of rat poison (a particular brand that is supposed to be safe for pets) and it also looks a lot like that picture.
To my very untrained eye, rat poison pellets seem to have more of an irregular, pitted exterior, and wood stove pellets tend to be smoother, like what you see in that bag in the photo. So I’d say between the two, it looks like more wood stove pellets. Maybe that’s what they are, and it’s supposed to be visually scary without being actually dangerous.
Also it looks like rat poison is a lot more expensive. You can get 40 lbs of wood pellets for $5. While 10 lbs of rat poison can be $40.
This is all just speculation though of course.
I didn’t quite understand why more people aren’t getting a bit freaked out about this massive deportation that’s about to happen.
The logistics are impossible without massive amounts of human misery.
And even beyond the official actions of the US government, this is going to also spark thousands of little ethnic cleansings in towns across America.
It’s because:
Full stop. They can’t. It’s an insane promise that Trump can’t live up to and doesn’t have to live up to; I don’t think he has any intention of it either. No more than the wall he built. Just more grift.
It depends on what you mean by “little ethnic cleansings”. If you mean that actions against people who are foreign-born (or just look like they are) will increase, I’m sure you’re right. Heck, when Trump blamed China for Covid, we saw a pretty significant increase on racist attacks against Asian-Americans all over the country. And yes, it’s disgusting and it’s why the Republicans and Trump in particular need to be rejected by anyone with any shred of decency.
If you’re talking about literal lynch mobs rounding people up and murdering them, there is no indication that anything like that will happen.
If the bags were found on the ground in the open air, it’s probably just something convenient to make sure they don’t get blown away by the wind and/or to make sure they go onto a lawn if you toss them. Although it’s possible that they also want to make them look like rat poison.
I also just thought it could be fertilizer pellets, but while they are the proper size, shape, and color, I can’t find any that are glossy like the ones in the photo. So probably not that.
I think it will start as series of intimidation tactics like you see above to drive people out of town. They’ll find other ways to make it very “uncomfortable” for people with the wrong last name to stick around.
He might not, but the people he hired to do it however do have that intention.
Yes, when people with openly bigoted views get into power, the local bigots will naturally feel empowered in communities. I don’t disagree.
That just reminds me of when Bannon stole money from a ton of people to help get the wall built.
It was of course a scam.
Most of the Republican racism these days seem to be directed against people who look like they’re not foreign-born. I.e., Hispanics.
Not to them. To them, they are “invaders” that need to be sent back where they came from.
The reality doesn’t matter. It’s like the Sikhs who were attacked after 9/11. One of the first people killed in revenge for 9/11 was a Sikh man who was shot 4 days afterward. Sikhs originate in India and their religion has nothing in common with Islam, but because Sikh men often wear turbans which some people associate with the Middle East, it made that person a target.
Bigotry and stupidity go together like itching and venereal diseases. People will be persecuted over the most shallow and stupid reasons.
Add on to that the fact that everything he promised in his first administration was to happen in “two weeks”. There’s a general feeling of “That’s Trump being Trump. It will never happen.”
Unfortunately, I’ve got a feeling it might. Or, at least there might be an attempt.

Unfortunately, I’ve got a feeling it might. Or, at least there might be an attempt.
I think there may be an attempt, and that does scare me.
I’ve said many times on this board, even when things he wants to do will fail (and I’m sure the vast majority will), the very attempt will be damaging. I doubt many people here forget the family separation policies at the border. He has absolutely shown that he’s not above that kind of shit.
