NEW Stupid Republican Idea of the Day (Part 3)

Most babies’ first word is mama. Without a doubt, the tangerine toddler’s first words were me, me, me.

Let me tell you a story about a boy named Jimmy
One year old, and his first words were
mine, mine, gimme…

I/me/mine are Trump’s preferred pronouns.

Well, the flag was clearly asking for it, so it’s all right with most Republicans.

Next thing you know, the flag is pulling a train.

President Dumbass sees a headline about how an oil company is closing its North Sea operations in response to the UK’s “windfall tax” tweets “get rid of windmills!”

Someone should tell him that windmills control hurricanes by grinding the big wind into lots of little winds.

From what I’ve read about his first term, this is too long for his attention span. It would need to be reworded to something like:
Windmills control (Trump) hurricanes by grinding the (Trump) big wind into lots (Trump) of little winds.

And also that “windfall” =/= “windmill”.

Start with the basics before you expect him to be able to delve into meteorology.

Stop trying to make him use metric!

Good thing I hadn’t just taken a sip of my beverage.

And not a single person around him who will tell him he’s wrong. I get that it doesn’t matter that he looks stupid but geez.

Or even give him the side-eye. I bet he’s very quick to pick up on that.

Don’t forget he’s still mad about the offshore windmills near his golf resort in Scotland.

I don’t blame him. They kept blowing his balls off course.
(Don’t say it!)

I just ran across this article…

…and got sidetracked by something:

The orders not to obeyed, first laid out by the now-imprisoned founder, reflect the organization’s paranoid view of the federal government, and include “We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people”; “We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps”; and “We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.”

That seemed backwards to me as I would’ve thought the Oath Keepers would be thrilled to turn cities into giant concentration camps for (the wrong) American citizens.

I wasn’t familiar with what the article called ‘orders not to be obeyed’. Maybe others have heard of this, but I haven’t. From what I’m reading, the Oath Keepers have a pledge:

  1. We will NOT obey orders to disarm the American people.
  2. We will NOT obey orders to conduct warrantless searches of the American people.
  3. We will NOT obey orders to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject
    them to military tribunal.
  4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
  5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty.
  6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant
    concentration camps.
  7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any
    pretext.
  8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the
American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control.”
  9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and
    other essential supplies.
  10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably
assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances

That didn’t really clarify it for me as, again, those didn’t seem all that radical for a group of far right law enforcement and military people.
However:

The list of “orders” the Oath Keepers vow to refuse reveals their extreme conspiratorial mindset, because
the “orders” are not instructions ever likely to be actually handed down by officials; instead, they are
reflective of the anti‐government conspiracy theories embraced by the extreme right.

That makes more sense. I’m looking at a number of those vows and thinking they’ll be more than happy to break them on Trump’s command.

  1. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state.
  2. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.
  3. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.
  4. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances

I’m guessing these fuckwits have never watched Outbreak or similar movies.

The thing to understand is, these guys started during the Obama administration, in 2009. So their list of “No way will we do that!” orders reflects nothing more than the conspiratorial beliefs they had about what the Secret Muslim President was going to do.

If you read that list of rules purely in isolation, it doesn’t seem so bad, but in context, it’s clear they considered Obama an existential threat. Trump? Not so much. As you say, they’ll be quite happy being Trump’s boot on the necks of the undesirables.

Aren’t the things these vows are against exactly what their idol has promised to do?
