I’m shocked he’d forget that name! No doubt his response was, “Sue City? Nah, this doesn’t look like home.”
A Hong Kong court has dropped charges against an American politician who turned himself in to customs authorities after bringing a gun into the city’s airport in what he called “an honest mistake.”
Washington State Senator Stephen Jeff Wilson appeared at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was acquitted of “possession of arms without a license.”
Instead he was given a 24-month “bind-over” where the charge was withdrawn and the defendant agreed to a good behavior order. Wilson’s firearm was also confiscated.
What are the conditions of the bind-over?
The conditions for the “bind-over” order include abstaining from possessing firearms and ammunition for 24 months. Repeated offenses would lead to a HK$2,000 (about $250) fine and further prosecution.
Like that’ll happen. I’m sure he’s not going to be staying in Hong Kong for the entire two years. And, of course, he’s going to have weapons back in the United States. That is, unless he gets prosecuted for having the thing on an aircraft in the first place.
Well, if he does actually honor the Hong Kong court’s order while he’s in the United States, I’ll have some respect for him. I’m not going to hold my breath, though.
Nor do I believe I woudl’ve gotten such lenient treatment. The Hong Kong judge’s comment about Wilson’s presumed knowledge of Hong Kong law’s strictness is more reason to convict, not acquit, IMHO.
The party of I WANT ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST!, ladies and gentlemen.
A quick skim of his wiki page says he’s also pro-life, anti-LGBTQ, anti-mask, anti-Obamacare, has voted against medical care for 9/11 responders and (separately, I think) firefighters with mesothelioma and probably a whole bunch of other stuff.
He seems like a swell guy. Glad he’s not my doctor.
“Pro-abortion groups”? Who wrote that?
(And, honestly, 13% is not nearly enough. Given the scourge that sugar is upon the American diet, candy should cost 800~1000% more than it does.)
Does it involve selling guns to Hamas and forwarding the profits to the Wagner Group?
Mike Johnson has a black son that he and his wife adopted when they were 25 and he was 14, except that they didn’t actually “adopt” him per se because there was too much paperwork, they just “took him in” somehow because that’s apparently something they let you do, and he’s not in any of their family photos for some reason, and also nobody seems to know what the kid’s last name is.
Does he go to another school in Canada where he’s a fashion model?
Between this guy and Matt Gaetz, I’m starting to think there’s a place young GOP go to get young boys they later claim they adopted.
Someone should look into that.
Is it a pizza parlor in Georgetown?
They didn’t happen to own a farm?
So that SNL cold open sketch wasn’t making things up. Interesting.
Did Santos pick up that baby from the same place? Also, wouldn’t the kid’s last name be “Johnson?”
Reality is weird enough that they don’t need to make up shit.
The head of the North Dakota QOP has resigned after saying that black people should go back to Wakanda.
So, he’s confessing to kidnapping?
Many years ago, the idea of a state tax on sugary soft drinks was proposed here; one of the the “anti-” ads portrayed a mother who gave a heartfelt speech about how wrong it would be to pay more just so her kids could have something to drink.
When the original story broke, Roetman refused to apologize, telling Port, “I am a man who stands by his words.”
…no matter who racist and\or stupid
Here we go again.
He’s mad they’re cribbing from his play-book?
